i was wondering if adding a intercooler wiil do anything as far a s power i dont have a turbo on yet but am planning for one i have it bored out .20 mild cam and light weight flywheels

your car comes stock with a sidemount. Not quite sure what your asking. If upgrading to a bigger core than yes it will unless your running the t25,14b,or 13b than id just stick with the stock intercooler if your running anything bigger than a 14b than yes it will give you a little bit more power

You have a gst... it comes stock with a turbo.
If you have the stock turbo, you will actually loose some spool up time if you put on a larger intercooler core. Your car will seem slower. The sidemount is perfect for the t25

Please give us so more info

The rule of thumb with intercoolers is every 10degrees you can cool the intake charge (air inside pipes) you will gain 1% horsepower. Thats what intercoolers do they cool the air inside ## intake. There are three different kinds you can get, tube and fin, bar and plate, water to air. Tube in fin are junk, Bar and plate intercoolers are the best for the street. Water to air will cool the best but lose there cooling ability over time since they use engine coolant to cool the air and become heat soked, there more for race applications.

oh and your car will only be slower if your intercooler flows less lb/min than your turbo?!!?!?!?!? if ## turbo flows 50 lb/min and ## intercooler can only flow 45lb/min then it will feel slower of course...and drastically effect your spool up time and may even cause compressor surge and seriously damage your turbo..only way that would happen is if u buy a crappy cheap tube and fin intercooler. If u have a stock turbo any brand name bar and plate intercooler will flow sufficient enough and wont slow your car down at all.

so if i was to upgrade to a bigger turbo then i should uprage to a bigger intercooler im looking for about 300 to 400 hp and i was also wondering if a stand alone fuel system would be best not sure if i want a bigger throttle or if its even a have to have

in my opinion yes you should upgrade your intercooler with your turbo. Because lower flowing or smaller intercoolers can flow less air than your turbo pushes out. When that happens your intercooler turns into a restriction in the intake and thats not good. And 300-400hp is for sure manageable without a complete standalone. You can get your ecu socketed and chipped. And far as your throttle body goes, ive seen alotta people dyno in between 300-400hp with stock throttle body and stock intake.

First off, please use proper punctuation and grammar. I'm not trying to flame you or call you out but the things you say don't make much sense.
Bored out to .20 - for what reason?
mild cam-???
and we only have one flywheel, what would be your purpose of getting a lightweight flywheel?

I'm asking you these questions since I'd rather have you not just throw parts and money into something not well organized.

How's your car right now? How many miles? All the maintenance done on it? Is the engine in healthy condition?

There's lots of info on here, and be sure to check the links that soadweskey gave you.

Edit: In your profile it says you have headers yet you have gst. Is your car turbo or non turbo?

Will from reading and reading on this forum many claim that the side mount is efficient for 400hp. I'm not sure about that but it's what people say on here!
If your not making much power yet I would say get an fp wastegate rated for 17 psi. It's a nifty upgrade for a t25! There is a member on here (timbojim or jimbotim) clocking low14 to high 13's with just an exhaust and fp wategate!

Good God man, go to the Dyno Challenge (DSM Dyno Challenge - Highest Horsepower) and look at people running your desired power, learn from their mod list. The only real way to know when you're in need of a bigger intercooler is by logging actual IATs (after the IC) or checking knock for heatsoak.

Like SOADweskey said, check out the upgrade paths. You don't need a whole lot for 300 WHP. There have to be a dozen of these "I want 300 hp" threads out there full of guys that just got their car, haven't read a page of the Tech Articles, and want to buy hyper expensive kit that they don't need.

I have the stock ported t25 on my car with greddy I/C and the car works well, well worth the money to get one.
