Is it possible to put on an intercooler to the stock turbo, if not what is needed in order for me to apply an intercooler kit to my car?

Yes you can, it wont help with performance but there are kits that will work with the stock turbo and most other kits can be adapted pretty easily. You wouldnt use the j-pipe that comes with alot of kits and might need extra couplers but it will work. The old Greddy fmic kits fit with a stock turbo, dejon made pipes for the stock turbo, ETS V-pipe etc...

All turbo's are different. You will need to decide what one you want before we know what you will need.

But the most basic things for a mitsubishi turbo are:

Intercooler, intake pipe and filter, oil feed line, oil return line, water feed line, water return line, correct manifold size, correct o2 housing size (not a common issue).

If all of those fit you are good. But with most turbo's you are going to have to adjust the lines. Look up a 2g install kit on ExtremePSI and you will see most of the things you will need to upgrade a turbo to a mitsubishi 16g (common upgrade).

WoW, it really hasn't been said yet?

Honestly Search is your best friend, This site is a Wealth of knowledge, but we're not gonna spoon feed you it.

Look for the upgrade path found in the Tech section, follow it.
Then hit "search" chances are you'll find this exact post regarding FMIC options dating all the way back to 2002 or earlier.

Same goes for:
"what turbo"
"will my wheels fit"
"struts, springs, coilovers"
"my DSM won't start, idle, is overheating"
"Do i have Crankwalk?"

@Bud why the red chicklet?

A fmic kit is always benificial in my opinion. I've put them on the stock t25's and had noticable difference and it was not negative. I only suggest a few other supporting mods to go along with the fmic kit and you will be fine. Plus, you will already be ready for a bigger turbo down the road after you learn a few things about DSM's and what upgrade path you want to take.

I highly suggest the "search" (as stated above) for any information you are looking for. This site is packed full of endless information.

If I get a bigger turbo all I need is the intercooler kit and the turbo? Sorry never worked on a turbo car before :\

If it were only that easy :thumb: You will come to find that there are endless ways to go about a turbo setup and the FMIC kit should be the least of your worries if you don't know much about the turbo world. I'm just saying, it took me years to unnderstand a lot of this and I'm still learning daily.
