Intakes with no port for crankcase ventilation question

What do you guys think about these kind of intakes? I know I would have to get an catch can but is it really necesarry? I barely have enough money to get the intake.

So the question is: can I install this intake and run it properly without having to install a catch can?

Gut your PCV valve (or replace with straight fitting) and run a 1/4" ID hose to a beer can or other handy container lying around.

Just get longer hoses and route them down toward the ground. You can put a little in-line plastic fuel filter on them if you want.

i was thinking about doing the same, with a little furl filter on it and zip tie the hose down outta the way towards the ground...would this cause problems?

The PCV vents the crankcase gasses (blowby) via its one-way valve. You can collect it or vent to ATM, but you must retain this functionality.

I made up a simple PCV container with two hose barbs (one for the PVC and one for the breather) with one of those purdy 2" K&N beathers on top.

You do know most aftermarket Intakes also defeat the EGR?
