intake install problem

I went to install my new short ram intake today, and it hits the washer fluid reservoir and the edge of my battery, it won't fit. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas as to what I can do?

It's an ebay special, but its box says it's for my car so I was shipped the correct parts.

just whip out the BFH [ big f*ckin hammer ] i'm sure you'll make it fit

another reason why eBay specials are the sux0rs. BUt since you got it , i'm sure if you shimmey, push, pull, swear enough it'll fit

I don't know about making it fit. It's hitting the washer fluid reservoir, i'm not worried about scratching it or anything. I lined it up without the rubber connector, and it would fit nicely, the rubber connector is pushing it too far out.

Do they sell a shorter length connector at a hardware store? I can get it all on no problem, but it won't sit down nicely without hitting the fluid tank and the edge of the battery and the battery clamp. Any others with tips, similar experience, ideas?

You could always get a kit to move the battery to the back. I've been wanting to do it, myself, but there's too much stuff in line ahead of it.

what size is it (inside diamensions)? Is it a reducer (steps size)? if it is only too long and only made of rubber, got a xatco blade?if it steps size measure the inside distance from the tapered edge to the end of the coupling that attaches to the throttle body or whatever piece it connects to on a NA then measure the size of the seating area for the coupling on that piece. Cut the hose the same. therefore the taper will end right as it touches the mounting area. since you can make it fit without a coupling it should be able to fit with a coupling.

Thanks for the advice, I got it on there after trimming like you suggested, but it's still a tight fit.

I'm curious about supporting the short ram...what has everyone else done? I was sent one straight bracket, about 5 inches long, with three holes in it, and one straight bracket that was bent into an L-shape with one hole in it. Anyone experience something similar? How'd you support your intake for shaking and normal driving?

That I can not really help you with. Everyone who responded to this post is turbo, thus the intake pipe is routed completely differrent. most of the time I just see them being held on by the coupler on hondas. I guess it cant hurt here, just check it when you get gas. (its always a good idea to look under the hood during a fill up to check oil/ fluids, and to make sure everything looks okay). I believe there is a NA sub forum here and a www.2gnt.com then a forum there, Maybe they can lend some more adivse. Sorry man. Or we can see if any of the NA guys can help out here. But Im glad you got it on.
