Installing AGP T28 upgrade, question

They can be reused, but you're gonna need another bolt to replace the one stud and nut combo that they for some reason used in one of the holes. Well, you don't NEED it, but it's a good idea-- makes it a lot easier to remove the turbo in the future. Sorry I couldn't come by today and check it out, BTW...

update, I did the install today, I started at like 2pm, an i'm still not done. Thanks to Ricardo for helping me out with that. The hardest part was the oil feed line, still havent got it off. I rigged up device till I can replace the whole line. in the morning I'll finish, all I have to do is the oil return line, exhaust, intake, and put the fluids back in then give a test run, hope it worth it.

yeah we were doing it pretty fast, would have finished in 3 hours if it wasn't for that upper oil feed line, we kinda grinded the head of the bolt and it wouldnt come off, yes we were doing the correct male connector that was supposed to spin, but that thing was sooo tight.

Anyway, I think Agim will be able to finish it tomorrow and then I'll race him auto t28 vs manual t28.

I got a little bit more mods, so I'm hoping my transmission not to disappoint me, if it does i'll go right off to a junkyard and get a 4g63 tranny for a swap :D

My oil feed line is stripped to I just use and end wrench to hold the big side and a pair of channel locks to turn the the smaller stripped side. I've taken it off and put it on 3 times with it like this. It works fine for me. Eventually I'll change it but for now it'll stay.

I'm pretty much done, all need to do now is Putting on the exhaust, put the fliuds back, and this......cant this return line to line up and its hard.

ok what your problem is what i had the turbo houseing is cocked and the oil return line doesnt line up right <theres a fix for that you could remove the turbo and readjust the houseing> or do what i did cut the oil return line put a hose between the line and 2 clams <theres like no presure there for the oil return > and you can turn and addjust the oil line the way you need it. Its alot easyer then takeing the turbo apart and adjusting the houseing. just make sure the house you use on the line is high tep. i hope this helps you out i have done this to my car and have had no problems and i work on turbos alot so i do know a thing or 2.

Did you all have a lot of trouble taking off the downpipe? I cant get to the last bolt of the 02 housing so I need to take the downpipe off but 1 of the 2 bolts that connects the dp just wont come off!!!! I've tried almost everything and that thing wont go!

what did you all use?

It was a bit tough, Its a pretty big bolt so not like its gonna slip or anything, just put some muscle into it. I disconnect the downpipe from the housing, and left the housing connected to the turbo
oh, I use a normal wrench. you can use a hammer an hit the wrench that should work.

Note: I suggest you get the turbo oil lines first, those are the hardest. took me about 4hrs, still didn't get it out

lots of Wd-40 dsm's best friend =0) soke that baby a few times and let it sit and come back later after a bowl of weedies LOL
Also impact are great to have for the removeing of bolts =0) sure helped me.......but yes expect to run into problems.

Actually I already took off all the oil lines... and it was no problem at all! Rather easy actually.. i got lucky. Its just that one damn bolt from the down pipe that wont come off... i've basically tried everything!

And the reason why im taking the dp off is because there is no way i can get to the last bolt from the o2 housing.

yeah that bolt is impossible to reach. Youre better off taking the downpipe and exaust manifold anyway. Try some more of that pb/liquid wrench/wd40/whatever u have. Soak it and let it dry. Then try

did you who had the AGP line, did you all use these pieces to connect it to the OEM line, I couldn't figure out how they connect with each other

the banjo bolt the coper looking one with the hole in it is the one that goes to the head with the two copper washers <one washer on the inside one on the outside > the silver one goes between the two washers then the oil line goes to the end of that and the oil line goes to the turbo <top> the plug goes to the bottom oem oil line that came off near the oil filter location 10mm.

First of all you are going to remove the stock oil line and plug the hole with the supplied plug. Then look at this pic.-

See where the oil line goes into the side of the head. You have to pull the old bolt out of the head and attach there the way Rob just said. When you're threading in that banjo bolt only torque it 6-8ft/lbs or it will strip out the head.

Kevin

The new AGP Oil Line will be tapped into the head. There is a bolt on the passenger side of the dead. Simply unscrew the bolt.. and tap the banjo bolt provided on there.

CAREFUL!! DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE BOLT, IT WILL BREAK!!!

The picture below will simplify things....

G'luck! :thumb:

bolts breaking ......that oem oil line a pain in the ass even with a line wrench < just cut it at the base and use a 10mm socket. and make sure you put the aftermarket oil line before you put the exhaust manifold on there <just do it dont ask LOL> u will see its impossible to get at once its all on there to get a bite on it with the 15mm wrench. as we all said soke the #@%#@%#@%#@% out of all the bolts before the swop to get a head start pull the heat shealds now < they were a !#!##$# with the O2 sensor there.
