Doug, I just removed the fan. And there is no way that removing the whole radiator is easier than removig the fan. I mean the fan is held on with 4 bolts and has 1 electric connector, it also comes right out eay and give you enough room to work in. And this WAS a good thread guys and I hope it helps any newbee smart enough to use the search in the future. And by the way before anyone calls me "the man" I'll let you now Im not. My car is sittin in the garage cause i screwed up the oil line and because I had NEVER heard of a breaker bar untill i had the turbo off. So I tried to use my cars stock jack to help add some extra torque. well you know that metal piece your engine coolant cap(yellow) is on? It's aluminum, and it will break :( . And nobody carries it in stock I had to special order mine from I.N. because that was the closest place to me with that part. Just in case your curious its part #MD300835

Not the MAN

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. When do you expect the parts to be in? Inform us of how you like the turbo once it is on!:dsm:

I didn't think so, but I swear I read that somewhere. We just removed the fan too. But we still couldn't get the turbo past that stupid downpipe.

i didnt remove my fan just pushed the down pipe off out of the way and Zip tied it <my down pipe has a flex section> if yours doesnt then i see the problem.

Manifold. And it was surprisingly easy-- all the nuts came off with no problem. It was a little tedious with the ones on the bottom, since you have little room to work with and have to stick a wrench in between the runners, but it wasn't hard. The manifold gaskets (yes, there were two, is that normal?) looked good, so we just reused them.
