Nicely done sir, the soldering work looks excellent. I recently came across an audio shop advertising on craigslist that they have leds for all automotive bulb types, or they can get them. Going to see them next week and see how much the cluster bulbs will run. In the ad they listed the bulbs for the interior and mirror lights.

Which brings me to a question, does anyone know if the silver faced OEM gauges for the anniversary gs need to be sanded or not??? Would be nice to go blue w/out having to do the extra effort. If not then I will probably go red or yellow. If they have them in stock at the audio shop I'm going to check out, maybe they will let me test fit and color check??? We shall find out.

i like man it looks really bright im getting these alltough i would like to see how to make them so i can see redline hummm??

LOVE the look.. how much..LOL

Yep...got it finished a few months ago. I've been debating on pulling the blue film though and going with pure white (but keeping the red areas). The blue looks good, but it doesn't really match the blue of my WB and stereo, which are more of a greenish blue.

Sometimes the blue just seems to be a bit much to me now.

Thank you for the complements.

you might not have to sand the backs but it might make the color yellowish. check here. I'm not sure which one is the same as the ones in our clusters.

I just noticed in the picture you cant see the redline but i think you can see it in person. I will double check this when i get it in the car and maybe get a better picture.

I order my cluster and a few other lights for the interior from superbridleds.com w/ expedited shipping. I ordered the 360 degree beam warm white. From what I have seen, they actually come through with a light blue tint even with the film on the back of the faces. If I do not get the results I want, I do have a set of reverse glow gauges that I picked at the yard for a good deal. I could always see how they work with leds IF the results do not play out.

(check the funny stuff on craigslist, even an rs doesn't deserve what I just found.)

I have a problem with my 96 spyder gst... I cant get any lights to work... the only ones that do are blinkers, brake, and back up... no dash lights or anything.... i replaced all of the fuses and jumper the dimmer and still nothing... can anyone help with my problem???

So I ordered ten 74-wwhp3 bulbs for the cluster and interior. Forgot about the ignition LOL. But I will probably be ordering the neo bulbs for the rest of the interior soon and when I do I will get the ignition one as well. I should have them in the next few days. I will post pics of the before and after. My phone camera works pretty well.

Im hoping it will come through with a clear white, with a hint of blue to match my hid headlights and blue radio display.

Well my lights came in today from superbrightleds.com :hellyea: . I went through the installation of guess and check. And after a few removals and installs of the cluster I h
ad them all going.
I used the 74-wwhp3 (warm white). No sanding of the gauge faces, which I am debating on performing.

Here are the results. I have yet to change the HVAC or any others yet, so in the 3rd picture look at the HVAC and you can see the difference between the two.

(Also the sun was just setting and there was still a little daylight left)

Wet sanded the back of the gauge faces. Came out really nice. The only issue I'm having is the fuel gauge is not really working??? Waiting till the light comes on and then when I fill up I will try resetting it and see what happens.

I like the way the white comes through, but I ordered a set of cool white that are kind of a blue tint and I think those will come through nice. I still have yet to do the hvac or other leds but I plan to make the cluster cool white and use the warm white throughout the car.

End result thus far. Should have my lights Tuesday.

I have been draggin my **s for so long that I am finally getting some posts up.
I have had these installed for a year+ now. RedLed from superbrights:
Foot wells - WLED-WHP9-T
Glove box - WLED-WHP9-T
Map lights (non-sunroof) - 3710-xWHP3
Map lights (sunroof)) - 4210-xWHP3

Install was about as easy as it comes. 2 screws and 4 bolts for the cluster, unplug, twist out old lights, twist in new. Reinstall turn lights on, one or two areas not lit up right, pop cluster back out turn around the ones that arn't lit, re-install, check again.
If not lit up then....further troubleshooting required with testing in known good location for led operation.
Total time for cluster: 10 minutes including 2 beers and a smoke....
Oh wait the ashtray that takes about 20 seconds. Pop the cup holder/ash tray out, twist out old light, twist in LED. BTW this is the one that I used (ashtray) to test other LED bulbs for function as it was the easiest to quickly check to see if bulbs light up and which way the polarity goes. Also if you were too lazy above to check for polarity, this is the place to do it.

Another 20 seconds to change out the two footwells (in my opinion these are THE BEST perk of putting LED's in, that and the map lights). Everytime I open my door I can see my footwell, I can see something if I turn my map light on. Its just 1000x better than the crappy weak stock bulbs.

So far we are 11 minutes into the project, two beers, a smoke...

Pop out the center consol (2 screws right at the seat belt buckle up thing, 2 in the area under the ashtray/cupholder you pulled out above, and 2 more behind the snap-in HVAC bezel), replace the cig lighter bulb, maybe 2 minutes tops?

If you have an auto like I do there is a bulb just under the plastic on the driver side. Its one of those can't really see have to feel things. 1/4 turn, pull out old, put in new. its a slightly bigger bulb btw than the ones used above so far. Refer to the post for p/n. You have the console out allready so this is another 20 seconds.

Open glove box, push in two side tabs on either side, let glove box make a huge mess all over your passenger floorwell, take out old bulb, put in new.

Map lights, pop plastic off, pull out old bulb, put in really cool new LED festoon bulb. Note that the fit can be a little funny. What I did to help keep it secure in the clamps in the rearview mirror was wrap the ends of the LED festoon bulbs with a tiny wrap of TINFOIL. Its conductive and I have used it in other applications. Slide it up in the clamps and put a DONE stamp on it (for the mirror anyway). Again maybe another 5 minutes because I had to go walk to the kitchen get another beer and find the tinfoil.

At this point we are 20 minutes in. Almost everything is installed. The only thing that even remotely makes this difficult is getting the builb in the HVAC. I am not going to lie, I finished off the rest of the beer, had a couple bloody knuckels, and might have broken something plastic on the back of the HVAC (I think it was white...), but it hasn't had any effect on function of the controls...

The degree of difficulty goes up again if you are changing out the little bulb in the a/c button..."search" this before attempting.

Put it back together, and your done. They even dim and brighten with the stock dash control. Pictures just don't do this any justice.

I forgot to get the picture of my gauge piller in this!!! Dangit. They are Glowshift 7 color, the red color in them matches perfectly. My wideband numbers are also in red so they match as well. So at night everything is red (except for my a/c button, and CEL). The factory color is so weak, you will thank yourself many times.

Did you get the cool white LED's installed? Curious how they look compared to the warm white.

I'm very curious about the cool white lights too. Have you got them yet?
