Hey everybody I just had a quick question.I just installed my fmic and I pressure tested everything and I could hold 20psi for 4 minutes.Or I should say it took 4 minutes for it to go to 0.Anyway now the boost will drop down to 15psi by just over 5500rpm.I used to hold 18-19psi till 6500.Also when i did the boost leak test I could hear bubbling and air coming from the oil cap.I read in another thread that its normal for it to do that cause of no oil pressure. Is that correct.I know the turbo is good cause it was rebuilt just about 1k ago.My compression is over 155 in all cylinders.I have no smoke blowing at all so im sure the valve seals are good.Maybe its the pcv valve leaking,so could that be where my boost is going,or can the 14b not keep up with the fmic volume. Thanks for the help.

i am thinking this is due to the larger volume that you have to pressurize because of the fmic and piping. how is the boost curve? is it spiking in the earlier rpms?

well I have my boost controller set to 20psi and it goes to about 21 and will hold 20 until about 5k and then it drops from there all the way to 15psi.

Sounds like it just can't keep pressure on the system. How big of a car are you running? Short route piping or long piping? What kind of intercooler did you buy?

I forgot to put that it is short route piping.I bought the ss fmic kit for the 2g.

Come on somebody has to have a clue.I went and logged a few runs and with my smic i flowed 30.5lb/min.Now with the fmic I only flowing 28.5lb/min.Is this because i cant hold boost like i did before. Also with the smic if i did a second gear pull I would spin almost all the way through, now with the fmic I lose traction a little and then traction.I almost feel like my car got slower with this fmic.Someone please help.

Check your clamps/couplers. I have the same kit as you. I replied in the big thread. I had a problem with losing a 2 psi. I was like WTH. I looked and one of the couplers shifted, obviously making a boost leak at higher rpm @ full boost. Fixed it and really tightened up those t-bolt clamps and everything seems ok.

They are all really tight and i have no boost leaks.I tested the system to 22psi and it took almost 4min for it to leak out.Im confused?

Well I leak tested again and the tb elbow that comes with the kit is leaking at the welds. But its a minor leak.I guess ive come to the conclusion the 14b cant flow enough air for this fmic.I hope when I get my e16g it will be ok.
