Install time???

So ive been looking all over this forum and the internet and i cannot find what i am looking for!!! All i want to know if how long on average it takes to install a timing belt and water pump on a 7 bolt 4g. Also wouldnt mind knowing how long it takes to install the oil pump as well. Thanks for any help guys!!

IT really depends on the person doing it. Some can do it in a few hours, some will take 2 weeks to complete something like that, some will not get it complete and pay someone to do it, part it out, or scrap it.

Well the car is at a shop, im not going to do it. Im having other work done so while its there they night as well do it, so im just curious because i want to see where im at price wise.

Shops will likely go by a book rate. If the book says 12 man hours they are gonna charge that unless it runs over.

I always get weary when i hear 4g63 timing belt and a random shop. You will not fine many that will set the tension correctly, and you will be lucky to get the oil pump/balance shaft in sync.

ok well some good news! shop put the car up on the lift and the water pump looked almost brand new as well as the oil pump. So im going through records at the mitsu dealer to see when the service was done. Ive only had the car for about a year, so i might have gotten lucky!

AllData book time for oil pump is 6 hrs.
Book time for water pump is 3.5 hrs.

Of course if you had both done at the same time, a lot of that labor time is shared.
