So I just tought Id share what Ive been doing with the car the last few days. Let me know what you guys think, good or bad.

So the car had a 16G for all of last year and I decided to go bigger when this one decided to start fogging for mosquitos.

The G60 dose not make full boost (30psi) till 46-4700, but this thing smashes!

The G60 is much bigger!

Installed.

So to top off the build for the winter I landed a set of evoX rims from a buddy who swaped for some gold rotas!

Just before the dyno!

The results from the dyno was 393.82 hp and 376.35 ftlbs. The very unfortunate thing is the compressor surge. But thats what you get from a big copressor housing and a small exhust housing.

One other thing just for some info. I purchased a set of lucas 1250s so I could run e85 and they ran good for a few days of tuning then the dyno runs, then boom, 2 craped out! So hopfully they will do a warranty swap or something.:notgood:

Right on bro! Although I love my car, im still a sucker for the balck 2Gs. Nice ride!

haha Thanks man. I love black 2g's too, but this talon is now totaled and I have a red eclipse. I miss the black paint haha

Good numbers, and nice wheels! wow your buddy swapped his stockers for some Rota's? I think he needs his head examined. LOL

Yup. it was at mac and I know the numbers are higher there but its now always what you know but who you know, so could not pass on the dyno time. . . btw The turbo was running 30 psi on the dyno.

Why such low numbers? I made 500 at macs on a 60-1 turbo (close to yours) and the same PSI. Sounds like it needs a major tune.

Dude, thats exactly what I said. Meaning if the exhuast housing was up to par with the compressor housing the surge would not be so bad. But thanks for clearing that up. . . .

A better flowing motor on the intake side would clear the surge, which is not what you said. Either way you have done some good work, but it needs more work. At 30psi that turbo should be flowing well in the high 40lb a min range which equals high 400hp numbers.

Yes, Ryan is right. I had no problem with surge with a 60-1 and the very fast spooling t31 turbine wheel and bep bolton housing. I saw 30psi by 4200rpms with my 60-1 no surge. I have a cam upgrade.

Just trying to help here. There's SO much more to a turbo than housings, especially in the case of surge. It's about the compressor WHEEL and engine flow; engine flow is related to the turbine housing AND turbine wheel. Compressor performance (surge/flow/efficiency) is not really effected much by having a large compressor housing. If anything, a larger compressor housing actually helps prevent surge somewhat as is moves the surge line slightly farther to the left. A t350 turbine wheel would have been a better choice. But I don't think you can get the g60 with that wheel. So you have to get a cam upgrade or a turbine housing with manifold upgrade to make a difference with the surge. OR you can clip the wheel:D

Can you get an anti-surge cover cut for the 60-1 compressor wheel?

Yea, i have those same rims and they have some problems with sticking out a lot. I think i will need to roll the fender but Im not sure yet. What is your offset and backspacing and did you roll your fender to make sure they tuck in?

Ouch! First off what size flang r u using? What size is the coprssor housing? Internal, External gate? Whats done to the motor! Like I said before, this motor is completly stock, from cams, intake, exhaust mani, I mean every thing! A you know all these things play a role! And the tune is right on. Do you have some one tune your car? Who?

Your right on bro! All I can say is in time and money. I will be looking into an engine soon, so cams and intake, exhuast mani will all be on the list of things to get. Thanks for the good input!

James :laser::talon:

I did not roll the fenders, they stick out about 1/2" in the front and none in the back. I will be getting 235s instead of 245s though.

I tune the car, always have always will.:hellyeah:
My setup is a bit more than yours, but before this i had just about the same as you and i made 450hp at a lower boost than you are. How do you know the tune is right on? Who tuned it? I'm not bashing you, just wondering if i could help in someway since i'm local. What are you tuning with?
My setup consists of:
Home built by me 9:1 wiseco/scat motor, stock composite headgasket with arp's
BC 272 cams
1600cc Injectors
Aeromotive FPR base pressure of 30psi
Single walbro 255 in tank
Taylor Wires
100% E-85
T3 SFP Manifold
T3 60-1 with a .82 hotside
AEM wideband car tuned at 11:5
Tial 38MM with bumper dumper
JMF SMIM
Act 2900 6 puck unsprung
Jacks Prem. Tranny
Home built water/meth kit
3" Turbo back exhaust
SSAC Fmic
HKS SSQV bov
Gm maf
AEM 5bar map sensor
Tuned with DSMLINK

Wow, that thing spools pretty slow. My G50 spools 25psi 1,000rpm sooner with no tune on the car.

A 16G and supporting mods for it can do the hp numbers you are showing, but with some torque to go with it, and full boost before 3 grand.

Right on bro. I apreciate all the help a guy can get! So im runing with v3 link. The reason I say the tune is on id say ### I finally got my maf setting right and it has taken a while to teach myself, so im just excited! You have a hell of a build there. Looks very good. My hot side is small dsm as well, but i think there is more power to be had as well.

So let me clear some thing else up here. The hole compressor surge thing we were bashing about I think was mistaken for somthing else. I got to thinking about it and checked the waste gate actuator rod and to my amazment it was loose! So it seems to me that the door was opening and slaming shut and I thought it was surge. So I gravely apologize for being an ass.:banghead:

If you would like to help im open for it for sure as I help many people out as well too. pm me and Ill shoot you my #.

Thanks!

You should come check out the dyno day. I think there is more lef in this setup after all!

I've never seen or heard of an evo3 16g car see close to 400whp with stock cams. Nor have I ever seen or heard of an evo3 16g car seeing full boost by 3K in 3rd gear with 272s or fp2s or similar cams that would be needed with such a feat.

I just feel that the car has more power to made. I've been dsmlink tuning for a while so i know a few tricks. Post a log so we can see whats going on.
My number is 3-476-0667
