Has anyone one here installed a forced four shift box with external shifter controls using a relay instead of a switch? I can't find info anywhere. I don't like having to hit the switch when going into triptronic mode on my 3g shifter I'd rather have the relay automatically do it for me. I have a basic2 shift box if it helps.

How can you have a relay do it for you? How's it going to know when you want manual vs auto mode? Don't be lazy and use the switch!

I've got the road surge box to install and imnkeeping the switch, if I had no switch I could never click it from 1 to another.

It's not being lazy. Forced fours website even says you can use a relay. If I'm cruising on the highway and want to switch from the TCU to the shift box to do a pull I don't want to flip a switch when pushing the shifter over to triptronic mode I want it to be as factory as possible and have it done automatically. I'm not using the shift box itself to do shifts I'm using the slap shifter to shift manually.

Haha I see what your trying they at but our tcu's don't switch automatically, it may be possible to wire it in given a sensor location or signal wire when pushed over to the tiptronic mode but that would be just in the mechinisum it's self, so you can add a roller switch to trigger it's location then it would trigger the relay I guess or can just be sure u to the switch wires without the switch, I think!!??

I'm just keeping mine simple imnok with a switch but I'm not using slap shift so it may be easier for me but I also don't want it to kick over to manual mode for any weird reason.
