insanely mint 90 awd talon!!! what should i do??

......So i own a 97 spyder gst, and I'm in love with it, really don't think I'd ever sell it, but a local dsm mechanic from my old home town, who has done nothing but rebuild these engines and work on DSM's for the last 20 years, has a 90 eagle that has a MINT dark blue body, awd, and MINT interior....Its insane fast right now but heres the deal. He's always wanted a awd white 92, and he finally tracked one down, so he's swapping all his toys over into it. So he now has this car up for sale come beginning of summer.

Now for what i think is the buy of a lifetime

--because he has been into these for so long he has a few connections, and recently put in a brand new factory OEM transmission from Mitsubishi that has 10k miles on it
--he's putting a brand new bell housing on it, he's building a 6 bolt to factory specs, replacing every nut and bolt on it from the pan to the valve cover, and all the things on the accessory belts are brand new(tensioner, oil pump, water pump...etc.)
--brand new clutch
--rebuilt 14b
--pretty much anything that can eventually go bad, is brand new

price tag--$$4250


Now correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not too familiar as to what awd 5spd 6bolts go for, but i think one of this quality will be worth this for a long time and i could drive it as a weekend car and not lose anything on it in a few years (ill probably only put 15k on it) is this as good of a buy as I'm really thinking? please let me know your thoughts from people who know the value of these!!! I cant really pay all cash for it, but i could probably put 2k down and pay it off in a year no prob, and I'm pretty sure it's worth it...hehe, last thing i need....2 DSM's

Price is kinda high?? But if its worth it to you thats all that matters. Do you want to spend $300 for a beater to put $3k into to get to the same position? Your call. However you could put $$$ in performance parts into a beater and have a faster (not so clean) car. It just depends on your goals.

i see what your thinking, but my main uses for this would to leave it absolutly bone stock, and just enjoy it, and my 97 gst is getting to be decently modded so that would be the car i end up pushing hard(i know this goes against everything the dsm community would do...mod the 1ga awd and leave 97 stock) but im the opposite, speeds not everything to me

i just love the idea of EVERYTHING is brand new, so i should be looking at a ton of worry free miles on a immaculate dsm, i know its kinda hard to put a price on, but who knows

and about buying a beeter and putting 3k in, the difference with this i think would be that this has never been a beeter! its always been perfect, no wrecks, so its a good car to begin with, then its all new and done by one dsm mechanic thats a guru...?

and build a 1g for weekend warrior

Why spend 4500$ for a BONE stock 1g awd. though it may be clean.

I sold a Very clean 92 awd 5speed with midgrade Mods, 16g build for 4500$

but its what you want.

On the serious side. I purchased my 90 tsi awd for 800 knowing it had a broken timing belt. I purchased the cleanest one I have seen in my area. It was a single owner car and has been very well taken care of. I sunk about 3k into the motor getting it to the point I wanted. I could of spent less and probably had a very good motor but since my original motor had 239k on the odometer we had the block and crank checked and also put a new head on. So on that note I would think the guy is asking a bit too much for the car. I would offer him around 3500 unless it is going to have a bit of work done you didnt mention such as a fresh tranny for example.

new tranny, new clutch, new transfer case, fresh engine, turbo...

yeah but the body has 239,000 miles on it. Thats not what i would call low miles and for 4,250.
I bought my car for 2,000 more than that and look at my mod list in my profile. Also if you just want a daily driver what the heck would you have to have an AWD car?

imo, i don't think i could handle a mint 1g awd dsm. It would be so hard not to race it or mod. just knowing that i had awd underneath me would make my mind wonder. They are so freakin fast. just swap the mods from the syper to the talon and use the syper as a daily driver. another idea would be just to save the money and put a built 6 bolt into your car.

don't bother with the 1g put the money into the GST. Having a bone stock 1g awd to me is pointless. But i guess it's all up to you and how much you value the car.

That car has allot of miles what about suspension. I paid 4300 For a MINT 90 GSX With onyl 37,000 miles on it. On ly thing replaced was the clutch done my aamco transmissions.
