I just got an injen intake in the mail from a friend.
All it is is a pipe with a coupler.
How do I go about installing this?
Do I just completely take off my old intake and pop on my new one?
Isn't there sensors and stuff on the stock intake?

There should be the coupler on the bottom of it that goes to your turbo, then at the top there should be an oval shaped coupler that goes to your MAF. Then usually there is an adaptor that bolts to your MAF and a aftermarket air filter...I think. Thats how my car came set up but I took that off quite a while ago.

Tom

not that it matters but he doesnt have a turbo DSM

Just take your intake pipe off the throttle body and replace it with the hard pipe.

you should have 3 couplers.

One between the air filter and your MAF, one between the MAF and the intake pipe, and one between your intake pipe and the throttle body.

propeine must not have seen that your N/T. just take off your stock pipe up at the throttle body and use the coupler to connect your new pipe to it. you will also have to remove you stock airbox. do you have a cone filter? you can pick one up from an autoparts store for around $20.

No I do not have a cone filter. How do I know what size to use?
And what about my MAS?
Does that plug into the stock airbox?

There is no sensors on 420a on the intake. Just take out the stock air pipe, air filter, and the air filter box, it may give you a little trouble just rip it off though cause you dont need it. You will need a 2.5" cone filter, it will be hard to come by at like autozone. So either order the AEM filter, or buy a 3" to 2.5" coupler and buy a 3" filter at autozone.

Okay thank you :D

Okay I'm still really confused. I'm gonna use simple terms to make this easier on me.
Alright, so I take off the black tubing. The honeycomb thing comes with it.
Am I supposed to attach the honey comb thing to my new intake? Or do I just leave it off?
How do I go about attaching it?
Do I leave the stock snorkel? (Air can) or do I put a cone filter on it?
I wish there was a guide with pictures.

Just take everything off from the throttle body going down until you can't take off anything else. Put new pipe and filter in roughly the same place. Go with an open filter, don't put the air box back on it. I think you are over thinking this.

What about that honey comb thing that I have? I believe its called a MAS
This is a vital engine component is it not?

This!!!
It has to go somewhere on the intake. And everyone in this thread is telling me 3 different things.
Where does this go?

well it can either go in 1 of two places but mostlikey it goes in the part of the tubing that is closest to the stock area i/e if it went between intake and throttle body then thts is where you would put it, if iy goes between filter and intake thats where it would go unless it is a 2 pipe cold air intake then it probably goes in between the 2 pipes

hope it helps
