i think i am going to go back to the 1g hacked mass. when i was running the 1g hacker i was at about +5 across on the high side. oh i have 660's, and run stock fuel pressure. with the 2g mass all hell breaks loose. all my setting have to be changed all the #uckin time. when i am out on the highway have to lean it out.(low side, and sometimes the high too) or else i will start fouling plugs. thats just after it was working perfect in town. and yes i know what i am doing. tuning is easy with the 1g mass. i have been tuning with it for a couple years now. also when i let off the gas to fast it dies or has to catch itself. the screw on the 2g mass is like half way in. when it seems to be making awsome power the high side is at like +28. ok now thats just not right! anyone else have this kind of trouble? either way i think i am putting the trouble free 1g back on tommarow. hope the 60 trim garret doesnt over run it. what ever over running is.:dsm:

i need some help with afc settings if someone wolldnt mind helping me out

i just bought another 1g dsm, the guy i bought it from didnt know anything about afc settings. it has 550s, a 2g mas, big 16g turbo on 15 psi, 255 fuel pumo without an AFPR(has 3", fmic, ic piping, and an external gate on the #1 runner, but i dont think that really matters for afc settings, i could be wrong)

when i bought the car it had everything set to 0 across the board, with the 550s it ran like crap and spit a mist of fuel out the exhaust. there is about 3 seconds of hesitation when i step on the gas before it picks up and goes(and it really goes, its fast even with the carp settings)
the TH points are 30% and 80%

i set the low to -6 across the board, and the high to -5, i think its still to rich, still white smoke from unborned fuel comming from the exhaust but not as bad

i just want to know a good place to start from with the tuning, i want it to run decent so i can drive the car, i can gradually tunt it later
i was thinking something like -12 across the board, but i dont know much about what the high and low settings of TH points should be

i appriaicte any help, thanks to everyone in advance

i have

tdo5h turbo
bov type s
intecoler pipe
profec-b boost controler (i don't know who much psi have)

i realli need a good settting the gauge alway are in lean and sometime go to rich and high go up and down

got news for you... white smoke isnt unburned fuel.... its coolant... check your compression. you might have a bad head gasket

ill be sure to check the head gasket since you said something, but the smoke smells like gas
i dont think the afc is even working, it might not be hooked up right
i think the sensor type might not be set to karman, the car is sitting in my friends driveway so i cant sheck right now
like i said, the guy didnt have the afc tuned at all, everything was set to zero, so the settings in ect. probally arent set, he didnt know anyting about an afc, and the car has rc 550 injectors

put it this way, it took more gas for me to drive it home 1 way then it took my friends 2g to drive both ways and then some, the engine feels like its getting way too much fuel, and the air/fuel guage stays all the way on rich(but it might not be hooked up right cause it has never gone down from all the way rich/green)

iv got tags for it now, so i can get it out of my friends driveway, im going to mess with it and check all the airing for the safc, the 2g mas thats on the car, and a few other things and see if it helps

i still could use some settings to start out with for a 1g with 550s and a 2g mas
thanks for the help though

Might wanna have an extra set of plugs handy when u go to tune ur car, i was tuning mine on the dyno, and i blew the electrodes off 2 of my plugs, and had a shitty ride home, cuz i didnt have another set nor did n e of my friends. Needless to say my ride home was shitty !

i checked all the settings over yesterday, i assume since the guy i bought the car from didnt have the slightest idea how to use an afc he was looking through the menus and hit initialize, because everything was on initial settings, not even set to karman mas type
i fixed the settings and it doesnt blow the white gas smelling mist anymore

rob at extreme said to start at -10 across for 550s and tune from there, that works decent and its very driveable, extreme is getting an awd dyno soon to go with threir new biulding so ill put it on there and let them tune it later
hopefully i can afford an AFPR before then(i think it would help alot with the 550s and 255 pump), anyone got any recomendations on a good one that isnt too expensive and isnt too much trouble to install, i would like to do it myself if possible

Well, my setting are a mixure of 5 & 3. I have a BIG28 Killer, so I guess it's settings are closer to a Big 16G. Also have 550s and a 190 FP.

low 35% high 65%

Low settings:

I tuned these at each point so my short term fuel trim was 0%

800 = -7
1600= -8
2200= -9
2600= -10
3000 - 7000 = -11

High settings:

800 = -15
1600= -15
2200-3000= -16
4000-7000= -17

These are my settings before the FMIC install @ 15 psi. I plan to turn the boost to 18-19 and make a few runs and make whatever changes I need, but right now I'm getting 8 degrees of timing at 3K and 19 degrees at 7K.

hey guys i need your help! i need to get my S-AFC working and dont know what to set it at, my mods are as follows....

bored .020 over, crankshaft shaved to allow for larger bearings, balance shaft eliminator kit, Ported 16g turbo with j-pipe/lower intercooler pipe, custom upper intercooler pipe, Pacesetter air filter, Turbo xs blow off valve, Turbo xs boost controller set at 15psi, pacesetter exhaust manifold, Arospeed muffler, Accel spark plug wires with NGK bpr7es spark plugs, apexi super-AFC, Autometer boost, air/fuel, oil, volt gauges, and blitz turbo timer, MAS is unhacked

please someone give me some heads up about this and posably some settings, i need to get this thing working but im haveing a hard time

thanks, jason

Was wondering what you all think of my settings too.

It was professionally tuned on a wideband o2 AWD dyno here in Chicago, But the dude who did it was a jackass, and got fired. Which makes me wonder if i am tuned right, or if he was just pulling numbers out of his arse.

So here we Go.

Low throttle

1000 = -12
2000 = -10
3000 = -9
4000 = -11
5000 = -11
6000 = -10
7000 = -10
8000 = -10

Hi throttle

1000 = +12
2000 = +14
3000 = +17
4000 = +11
5000 = +2
6000 = 0
7000 = 0
8000 = 0

Throttle point is Lo - 25% , Hi 75%

2 cyl point northeast.

what do you guys think?

Ive got a HRC Super 16G @ 15 Psi currently
550cc injectors
Walbro 255 fuel pump
No FPR

those are my fuel mods. Ive got 2.5 turbo back exhaust, 2.5 downpipe, hi flo cat..

Also have a 2g MAS.

If you need to see the rest of my mods, check my profile...

Just wanted to know what you think....

Thanks!

hey tsiguy, your settings are nowhere near what mine were when I had the hrc S16g. But I'm a 2g. I see you have the 2g mas but I still had my stock tb, intake mani and head(for now:shhh:). I also had a the hrc smic at that time but that thing didn't really help since I was sitting still on the dyno. I had something like this:

LO settings: 30%

1k- -2%
2k- -9%
3k- -12%
4k- -14%
4.5k- -14%
5k- -14%
6k- -13%
7k- -12%

HI settings: 70%

1k- -19%
2k- -22%
3k- -24%
4k- -26%
4.5k- -26%
5k- -26%
6k- -25%
7k- -23%

Now thats for 17# and 21#. I just left the settings the same for my lo-hi boost setting on my evc 4. Car ran great!! I dynoed with 93oct at 21psi and made 301whp and 326wtq. Also ran 116oct mix with 93oct at 25psi and got 304whp and 343wtq. My smic was heat-soaked so bad after one pull that it could actually melt the skin off my hand OMG which showed on the dyno sheet with a flat power line. My air/fuel was roughly 11.7 to 11.2 by redline and my timing drop down to 8 and counted up to 22. Egts were at 870-875c.

Hope this helps. So turn that boost up and run that thing. Plus your awd so wont spin like I did. Every car is different but atleast you can get a little idea where you wanna go with yours. Peace

How can you run so high on the high setting on stock injectors without hitting fuel cut? If I run +2 on my stock 450's and 255lpm and 14b I hit fuel cut.

Ok, heres something for u 1g guys, that have a 2gMas and AFC, w/stock 450's ( i re-wired my fp too ) . I must stress that u guys need to have a Logger so that u can monitor ur o2's and fuel trims.

Here are my settings on 14b @ 16psi , w/ 2g Mas, N1 3" turbo back exhaust, 2.5 uicp, and licp.

At 1st I started w/+25% fuel at 1k @ idle oviously, and took away fuel until it brought my lo fuel trim near 100% and my idle was stable. and also started w/+15% @ 2k rpms, and slowly took away some of that too. U must have some sort of logging device so u can get things in some what normal cnoditions, until u can get it tuned

i just got my safc2 in my car and im just now learning how to work it.
i was hoping someone could give me some good base settings for my car according to my mods as follows.
1g awd auto 15psi
2g mas,b16g,650cc injectors,afpr,2g exmanifold,stock exhaust,255 pump.
what should my fp be set at?
what should my egt's be at?

can solve all of those quetions, but I can point u in teh right direction ( sorta ) well the 2gMas flowx 20% more air than the 1gMas, So if u add 550's ( i now u have 650 ) ull equal it out, 20% more and 20% more fuel. Well U have 650's, so u If my thinking is right, u just added 40% fuel ( correct me if im wrong, )will prolly need to take away some fuel, like 20%. Do you have a logger ? If not, GET 1 , or borrow 1 from a friend or another local DSM'er, once u get ur logger, and start to look at what the engine is doing, and go from there. U need to watch what ur o2's are, and atleast see what ur fuel trims are doing, u want to atleast set ur low fuel trim as close to 100% as possible, the idela range is 100-115% on the low. From this point I cant help u to much more as I dont ahve the mods u do, and every car is different, but what I had to do ( on stock 450's ) was add 25% @ 1st, and slowly take it away till my low trim and idle were smooth and as cose to 100% as possible. So, what I would do is start with -20% fuel and see what happens only do this if u have a logger , or know some1 who will let u borrow 1 ! Good luck.

should i turn my fuel pressure down to compensate for my new fuel pump? ive heard of putting it around like38psi. i have a logger im just now gettin the hang of using it.

I honestly dont know about Fuel pressure, might wanna run a search on that. Id like to know what to set the fuel pressure at too, as seeing i just ordered my afpr
38 with the hose off for a 1g.

so should i just put the fuel pressure to stock which is around 37 if im not mistaken. correct me if im wrong.
