actually it's already been done and milled out for a while, but the injuries i'm waiting for the last couple surgeries to fix, have kept me in so much pain that i can't bring myself to install it as a "test" by the time i finish with customer work daily i'm so bad i haven't even had the motication to install a new boost colenoid and move a few wires on the haltech since my prof*ck b went out (gonna use the haltech for EBC now but need to move the wideband's signal over and make a harness with a 10k pot on the end for adjustment from in the cabin w/o laptop.

The working bending down in the engine bay is so painfull that half the time i m thinking if the pain meds or physical therapy don't eventually stop it a metal jacket will. Living in chronic pain is hell and i don't wish it on anyone *but it is a restult of my adrenaline seeking nature that i have these injuries so i actually still get to enjoy life quite often* Anyway, back on topic.. here's a pic, but instead of having the bends of the OEM mitsu unit i have just machined a spacer that goes behind it..

I made this one based on the math and projected arc path adn radius of the CS alternator with rough estimations of using a ruler stuck down by the one mounted on my DD (but i've been machining so long i can usually get spot on or at least with .5mm by eye when working on something this size... My only thought of needed improvement after making this one is that i should have given it a longer reach of path as i'm affraid this won't let some cars get the adjustment far enough, but then there's always a belt 1 inch shorter that would fix that, but i'd rather keep them so there's no other application, lenght or change to remember a few years down the road LOL

well, i guess all i'm tryin to say is here's what it looks like (sans spacer) and if anyone wants to stop by and help test fit it to my car, if it works i'll give them a ffree one and make a few more for those thathate this half ass way of adjustment as much as i do. :)

This is oneof the few things i can't stop doing and why i'm in the pain im in after 12 years of it

And this is the type of stuff that gets me hurt, this was 2 weeks ago

just gettin I'm still working on getting the nerve up to bring it back past BP, incase i take another spill which the doctors say if i do the spinal damage may result in lsoing feeling in my legs ( i need 2 fusions in l4 - l5 and s1-s2-s3 areas)
I suck now days because the last 2 years before this one i could barely get off the couch to ride, just this year i'm improved enough to wanna get out and entertain the masses (how i view it anyway) Like the other night when the porsche meet letout and i went side by side on one wheel at over 105MPH next to alate model porshe GTR. starting from about 132nd st to about 120th rollin through intersections, up and down hills and just loving every minute of it..and in this town that's a good ways :) but it was the best feeling i'd had in so long i couldn't help myself, and the porsche owner was loving it too :D

These are fun but can f*&k you up bad too LOL i'm in the yellow helmet and in the first 20 seconds and last minute or so onwhite bike, other guy is my stunt partner that i do shows with (june 18th is our first in 4 years because of my injuries stopping me)

If you just need a test fitter, I'll pay shipping to test and take pics of the install process and final result!

BUt then i need the original back to make a jig setup to ensure they all come out the same. MIght as well wait to get it test fitted here by some one local and onmy car where if i need to make any small changes to the prototype i can do them rightthere and then incorporate the final design into the rest of them. It would take much longer mailing back and forth or making one after another hoping to have all the changes worked out and then gety it back to make a jig from.

just gimme a couple of days (or mail me a burnt out saturn alt to use on my spare 6 bolt for mock up, which is much easier than all other options)

:D:D:D:

sweet, let me know, i'll cover shipping on it and hook you up with a bracket for your efforts when i know they fit right. I was hoping to find one in the core bin at the autoparts store but they don't keep track of them and so many look similar i want to make sure i'm getting the right one before i base a new part and jig off it

Where did you get the smaller pulley??

So I ended up grinding on the OFH in 2 places to gain extra clearance and to allow the ALT to ratate in more. Also for one of the sensors you will need a 90 DEG adapter because the port is inline with the belt. The belt is pictured so that you guys know what belt Im using for this fitment.

Oddball things on my build.......
EVO9 OFH
Saturn alt WITH SMALLER PULLEY
Fluidamper crank pulley.

Hope this helps others trying to do this same setup.

Im not sure about the larger diameter because I no longer have a stock dampener to compair to.

kIgnore the oil sensor pic. That pic shows nothing useful as I was thinking that hole sees oil pressure when apparantly it does not.

So, my third alt just seized up last night at the track... So if you still need a SC alt to test fit, lmk...

I would just need it back to warranty it.

Damn! They make the reg just for us!

Do you know what kind of warranty they give for this alt and reg?

Did you have to grind the bottom like an autopart store one?

Really? Did you have any pics of the bottom of the alt? Of the case where the lower mount is?

no just the pics on page 5

As you folks may or may not know I am running the single wire self exciting regulator alternator on my setup. After idling for a few minutes im receiving the generator dtc. Is there a problem here? Im getting 14v above 1000rpm. Also is there a way to stop this code if it is normal?

I dis this swap on my last DSM and that code was always there. The light ne'er actually came on for it. An it did not effect smog so I did not worry about it. My voltages were good.

I'm currently doing this swap on my new dsm so I assume the code will appear again LOL

Also has anyone tried the 98-02 alternator just to see if they work also?

Yes the code is normal. I was getting it with the factory alt too.

My evo ecu throws it but no light. Field F or G failure right?

For all that are getting this generator code and are using DSM Link V3, there's a speacial code that Thomas put together to add to your direct access that will eliminate that.

Just search for generator DTC and you should be able to find the thread I started in regards to this problem.

FYI. I accidentally ordered a 02 Saturn SL alternator. But I got it installed lastnight! It uses a different plug then the 93-97 ones do.
I believe this one is outing out alot better voltage then the 93-97 alternator did on y last DSM at idle

Good news, the new alt bracket fits just fine :) will try and get pics
