Impact sensors

I am picking up a second talon tsi and i think it was smashed but the current owner does not know(buddy before sold it to him for a retarded price and he is giving it away reasonably cheap for the condition), the owner before him never told him. the steering wheel has been swapped to a elcipse one and the srs light doesnt com on when the key is in the on position so i know the bulb has been removed from the dash. i have a new srs modul on the way and a new passenger air bag since onlyt the cover is in place. my question is there anyway to test the impact sensors located in the fenders? if not does anyone know the price of them new? there arnt any pick and pull yards around here so its hard to get used ones since most places do not sell srs parts. i would like to swap the whole system at once so that there isnt an accidental discharge of the bags. I read on here that the sensor were like a switch that closed on impact. are they really a switch or more of an accelorometer that measures the forces and compares with the modules reading.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

since my last post on this i havnt found any impact sensors anywere, i am starting to wonder if they even exist, i cannot find them on wincaps and even the chrysler dealer could not find them. i have a set of avenger ones that i can get easily but i wan tto make sure that the part numbers are the same before even attempting anything with srs. if someone has the fender liner removed from the car could they please see if there is a part number on the impact sensor. the only reason why i assume they are on the car is because jnz has them on the illustration for all listed parts srs related. since i forgot to mention the year its a 97 tsi

So i found the answer to my question and i want to post the answer here to finish off incase someone else needs this info. according to my haynes manual only the 95s have both front impact sensors and the srs control module, anything after that has the sensors located in the srs module itself, i hope this answers any one elses questions towards this topic.

I got in a head on collision and air bags deployed, i took air bags and srs ecu from my gs and put it in my gst, perfect match, but that was one of my major concerns cause i didn't want to turn the car on and the air bags shoot out at me, thanks alot

Of course 90-94 doesnt have creash zone sensors because it doesnt have air bags. So yea you have one. If I remember correctly your not supposed to put a ohm meter to the sensor because you can cause it to send the signal to deploy the air bags. This is the best way I can explain how it works. If I punch you in the arm jokingly you wouldnt punch me in the nose but If I punched you in the stomach the pain would send you a signal to knock me out right. AKA deploy the airbag .
