bumper impact bar removal?

I know its not wise to do this on a street car for obvious safety reasons, but if someone was making there car a track only car is it possible to remove the front and rear bumper inpact bars and still be able to mount the bumpers back on without the bars?

I havented looked under there yet but I know on some cars the bumper bolts directly to the bars or thru some type of supports connecting to the bars so if the bars are removed another form of support needs to be built to support the bumpers.

My question is can the bars be removed and the bumpers be installed back on without any modifications. ex, the bumpers dont mount or rest on the bars for support.

on a 2g i know you can do that to the front but not shure about the back. i have mine off cause i cant fit my glass bumper on with it in there.

Yes you can do remove the front.

The back and front bars are almost the same. Both are just bolted down with four bolts through the metal brackets, which can be reached from underneath the car.

if i kept my front bar on i wouldnt have my turbonetics fmic so um yes you can and on average how many accadents are front end collisions vs the rest of the car? haha either way im going to die young related to going fast so its ok

But does it sag? im new to the 2g but on my 1g i had a big fmic and it wag sagging so i had to get the bumper kit from jmfab.

yes you can remove both on 1g and 2g without your bumper sagging

Member on here 99gstracer says they're really called 5mph impact bumpers, and that anything over that and they shatter anyway. He seems to have done his research and is adamant that you don't need them except to save your IC/Radiator in slow collisions.

dont know why your bumpers would sag i took them outta my 2g with no problems and removed the rear on my 1g with the cover still on and it still looks factory check your mounting brackets for bends or maybe even missing bolts

do you have to dissconect anywires from the front impact bumper so the airbags wont deploy?

No one responded to my post so ill let everyone know just in case others would like to know.. I nervously turned my key after removing my crash saftey bumper, and nothing.. you do not have to remove any sensors that may be connected to your bumper, if your like me you just needed to know so you can install your FMIC..

Why would you? There is nothing electical connected to the bumper.

well....thats what i was asking.. -_- i couldnt reach the inside of the "crash mounts" because my radiator was in the way.. considering i just flushed my coolant i didnt want to remove it... therefore i was asking if there were sensors that needed to be removed.. but thanks..
