So im fed up as i just got done with my timing belt fired it up and and re calibrated my wideband (lc-1) and at idle im ok 14.5-14.7 but when i cruise im at 12.5 sometimes a bit lower and WOT im about 9.8-10.3 and ive done 2 boost leak tests and found nothing, all the o2 sensors are just over 1 year old and the thermostat is about 1.5 years old and its had 3 coolant flushes in about 2 years, i thought it could be the CAS trigger cap thing inside the cover but ive been told its not that.

So what else can i look for or do to get this corrected as im getting bad milage and it was not like this before the change of the belts! Should i look at a rad cap or ingition wires? Would any of these cause issues of running rich???

Someone please give me a list of everything i should check and i will check them all again if i have to or read power or volts or anything to get it running how it was! Also im pretty sure its not the o2 as im not loosing any power and ive read thats a symptom,

PLEASE HELP ME i really dont know what to do or check next

yeah i did some tests that colt told me to do and it seems either my ecu pin 60 has burtn up inside or the wire is faulty some where tothe ecu so im going to test it at the ecu for a ground then go from there, if it grounds at the ecu pin 60 then im going to rewire that yellow wire all the way and if its not then i will have to fix the ecu.

on a side note that i forgot to ask! if i dont fix the ecu and thats the only thing thats dead and im looking to get a new ecu with link soon can i just make a ground somewhere in the engine bay for that yellow wire as a temporary measure?

thanks guys for all your help

You can also test resistance from the o2 plug in the engine bay to the ECU plug at that pin. If high resistance, than the wire is the problem.

I'd be willing to be that's a sensor ground and not a chassis ground.

right i got it, so i will have to wire it in to the ecu either way, i will also check resistance aswell then.

thanks

So I got this all fixed now, and the problem was that the oem mitsubishi o2 sensor was the fault as it was not for my car! It was the oem unit from mitsubishi/denso, I rang denso UK and spoke to them and over the last few weeks I have had numerous emails to figure out why it went bad only after 1 1/2 years. He told me the number on the sensor was incorrect and was for a daihatsu and not for our mitsubishi! The number off the sensor on mine is 065500-9594 and the correct number should have been 065500-9591.

So everyone who has recently bought a new oem unit just check the item number on the sensor! Im now in talks with the company I bought it from as its not there fault but they deal with mitsubishi so there going to check it out for me and then go from there as it blew my ecu up, so if it was packed wrong by mitsubishi then they can pay for the damage it caused.

Wow, that's no good. Glad to hear you investigated that far and found the issue though!

I know right. it must have been a mix up at the mitsubishi factory when packing but im not taking the risk again so i bought a ntk sensor and it runs perfectly now.

not thinking I should have checked the sensor part number before installing but i only looked at the box for the MD number but i wont make that mistake again!

I just think everyone should check them out if they recently bought one just to make sure its the correct unit as denso said its not calibrated internally for our cars and then he lost me as i have no idea what goes on inside that sensor haha so i just said oh ok but he was really nice and helpful over these few weeks
