I'm looking at either kaaz or quaife which is better for drag an street use?

A quaiffe is better for the street and the only choice for drag racing. It's better for the street because you don't have chattering clutch plates around turns, you don't have to constantly adjust it for wear to keep it performing and since it never wears out that means you install it and run it untill something breaks. And according to the KAAZ rep, it can't handle hard launches or even very many street tire launches either. The rep from KAAZ actually sent me to Quaiffe because he said their (kaaz's) diffs can't hanlde drag lanches and will break in the same spots the stock mitsu ones do under a good launch or wheel hop. <----That's why it's the only choice for drag IMO

I got the Quaiffe and love it, i've been driving on it for a while now (about 8 months) and I've driven a LOT of cars that have KAAZ difs and there's not too much difference in the amount of performance, but the way they work is totally different (clutch to heli-coil gear so i guess it's really apples to oranges either way). This is the first Quaiffe diff i've ever seen and so far i couldn't be happier. Changing lanes under light boost gets a little sketchy at first, but then when you get the hang of it some how it becomes fun like teh force feedback wheel on xbox 360 :D

Unfortunately, I have never driven a FWD car with a KAAZ, just the track cars from a shop i work in sometimes. In that aspect i'm not sure if i am getting a true comparison, but i would still say a KAAZ for a strict road race car and the quaiffe for a Street car that goes hard at the track or a straight up Drag car. I have however had to deal with the pain of pulling KAAZ diffs to put new plates in them or reset the pre-load because it was giving or not locking under load. This would be even more of a pain on a FWD car. You also have to replace the plates if you wear them out over the years, but i doubt you really would have to worry about that in a street car since your not canstantly pushing it hard out of turns. And the chattering they do around slow turns when they are letting the wheels spin independent of each other could get really old if you drive alot around town.
