Found a IHI ball bearing killer 16G and was wondering what you thought about it compared to other turbos! I have a stock 2G with all bolt ons except fuel! Do you guys think cams would be a better option rather then turbO!

Why do you need a ball bearing 16g? They already spool around 3100 as it is. And yeah what he said^^^^^^.

I had that turbo, it sucks :notgood: . Spools a little fast, but the BB catridge is old school technology. I blew mine, the BB catridge broke (huge smoke came out of the exhaust). I called XS Engineering to ask about rebuild. They told me is will cost me $1000 for labor and parts!!!! I'd rather add a few hundred bucks and buy a brand new FP3052 or similar GT turbo. They should call it wallet killer instead of 16G killer!!!

dont ever buy turbos that have the terms "killer", "big", or any sort of buzz words that sound attractive. because that is what they are there for- to sound attractive to unwary consumers. they are just a ploy so dont waste your time or money.

so for me, that has stock motor, and wants a 300+ whp, what turbo do you guys recommend!

so I guess the "big" t-28 is also a piece a junk?

BB turbo: FP3052 :thumb: (upgrade injectors 660cc, S-AFC,Walbro 255 High Pressure fuel pump, ...)
Non BBl turbo: BR20G :thumb: (fastest spooling 20G ever, 550cc injectors, S-AFC, walbro 255 fuel pump)

If you want power go big at once. Never mind anything smaller than a 20G

Big 16g is fine and the Big T-28 in my opinion are great turbos. If you have a 2g, I'd go with the Big T-28. If its a 1g than go with the EVO3 16g turbo. Both will get you in the 300 WHP range easy. Both need 550's with a walbro 255 or 190 or choice and a S-AFC. Both spool around 3000 rpm (If you have a ported EX.manifold, O2 housing and a 3 inch full exhaust system your spool up time will be even faster possibly in the 2500-2800rpm range).

I guess it depends on your personal experiences. i've had the IHI killer 16g on my car for 2 years(idk how many thousands of miles) daily driven, and beaten the CRAP out of all the time. (20+psi) dyno'd at 285hp. i recently took it off, for a larger turbo, and it is still in PERFECT condition. i'm talking perfect as the day i bought it. ZERO shaft play. Of course i always changed oil on time, full synthetic 10w30, and generously turbo timed it. i guess it just depends how you take care of it. so before you dismiss it alltogether, get a few opinions. if you have access to one cheap, theres no reason why you shouldnt get it. that's my opinion--
