Hey. Problems started like last week. Car wouldn't turn over, poked the starter solenoid and it started fine. Next time I tried it wouldn't start again, then it turned over for a sec before my starter fell apart.

Since then I've replaced my starter and battery(battery started deathing out too). It turns over fine like crazy now, but it won't get started. I'm stumped.

Have you checked all the plugs on the power transistor, coil pack, the cap thats connected to the coil pack?

I read a random post from someone on another forum saying a bad coolant temp sensor wouldn't allow your car to start.

Can anyone confirm if there's some truth to this?

Yesterday, whilst checking compression(gauge quickly went to 60 for all cylinders except 2, which quickly went to 30psi) my new starter stopped working. Now it just makes a weird noise..

Not sure why the hell it would start doing this, I haven't changed anything relating to it, and it was turning the engine over fine during the compression test. However at the end of turning the engine over it would make the noise for a second that it now makes all the time.

What kind of compression tester are you using? autozone?

Is your Battery fully charged? If the battery volts are LOW the starter can make a fast clicking sound.

Using an Innova compression check gauge.

Not sure if I'd call the sound the starter is making a "fast clicking", but I recharged the battery to more power than it had before easily turning the engine over.

It definitely has enough power.
