Hi, Will the TPS (Throttle Positioning Switch) Cause the idle to surge??? and could it cause the idle to be really high??? My laser is idling so high that it's hard to drive.... then when I screw in the ISC, it starts surging... would this be the ISC or the TPS... it makes no difference wheather or not the tps is plugged in or not.... it still does the same thing...... same with the ISC.... :laser: HELP!!!

First, check your throttle cable tension when car is hot.
Often throttle cable will have much higher tension when hot, due to insulation expansion. If it's too tense, it won't let your throttle butterfly to close completely, and your idle switch won't be tripped.

I assume you've searched for idle surge and eliminated other variables like vacuum leaks etc.

If you have a logger, check your throttle position, when idling fully warm. (don't look at SAFC, it won't show accurate TP)

Also, use logger to manually trip the idle switch (with engine off and ignition on). Logger will display if switch is activated or not.

So far i'm inclining towards over-tense throttle cable.

try moving your airfilter to the left more so its not getting engine heat as much (if you have open filter/hacked can) put in a k&n and let yer car idle for like 10 mins till its warm or drive for a bit. then have a friend
sit in the car while you lower your idle. set it about 800. that worked perfect for me. youd be suprised how well a new filter works.

I've got a full cold air intake system with a Brand new K&N filter on it....
so I know for sure that it's not the filter.... It did it before I put the cai on it....:laser:
