That can be a sign of crankwalk...
On a 1g?

You aren't venting or anything like that are you? 2g maf with what injectors. How are you fuel trims at idle?

some 1G's have 7 bolts just like 2G's

possible crankwalk...
though i dont know the signs of it

my car does this too, idles real low
but i know why mine does

I have a vacume leak
check your vacume tubes, one m ight have poped off, or got a hole in it,, sounds liike a vacume leak is a posibility anyway

the car has pte 680cc inj.
the car is a late 92 so its a 7bolt.
is there any thing i can do if its crank walk.
how long will it last before it breaks.
the car has a act 2600 and the rpm start to fall as soon as i start to press the pedal. is there any way to check for crank walk. thanx steve

if its crank walk your ####ed

but its not, its a V A C U M E leak

your prolly leaking from one of your injector seals, mine crack all the time (i have 660cc denzo's) and the reason your idle drops lower when u push the clutch is because you put a little strain on your car 'n alternator, but not enough for the ecu to rev higher..

check for a vacume leak, whens the last time you did a leak down test on post turbo? prolly never.. do that and you'll gain performance too

anyway,, check the easy stuff first, then worrie about crank walk.

thats funny u mention the injectors. i pinched 2 of the top o-ring on the injectors and replaced them with factory ones. they seem like they sealed, they don;t leak that i can see. i'll order a new set tomorrow. do u reccomend replacing them with a certain kind. thanx steve

My injector seals give me all sorts of problems. I had to take off the new mitsu ones i got and reinstall some old ones because the new ones didn't seal well. My car also cuts out occasionally on deceleration. Wouldn't have found the problem if i hadn't pressurized the intake system, was really surprised to hear air leaking past my brand new injector seals. Has anyone tried using some gasket maker in with the seals to really seal things up? That will probably be my weekend task.

i'm going to put some old seals back in the head today. let me know how u make out sealing them. thanx steve

your not getting your fuel rail snug enough, the stock ones should work fine, these injector seals (bottom) get very hard and brittle and almost always either A) split in half or B) split more than once sometimes losing a big chunk

this can cause some pretty significant boost leaks (do a leak down test, presurize your intake system from the turbo and listen for the HSSSSTTTT, your system should hold 15 PSI no problem)

boost leaks are bad, they rob performance and cause knock, AND can cause idle issues, a leak down test should be the first thing you do with idle surge (or crappy idle) I make it a point to do one every oil change.

I don't think the fuel rail isn't snug enough. The plastic pieces were situated properly and i tightened the bolts, what else could i do?
The old seals were a little hard, but definitely not missing any chunks, they weren't cracked either. I was really surprised when i pressurized the system and found air leaking through the new seals i had installed.
I'll pressurize the system again this weekend, but i expect there to be leaks at the injectors.
