Ideal Oil Pressure?

I've been combating a massive oil leak (cracked in half rear main) and a bent up oil pan and lost nearly 2/3rds of my oil and came close to spinning 2 bearings. I have an oil pressure gauge but it wasn't hooked up. I went ahead and did that tonight and I'm curious what ideal oil pressure is at idle (cold & warm) and cruising state average (2 ~ 3krpm). At idle it was about 15psi to 20psi, and it would climb very fast when going through the rpm band. I think I've seen it get near 80psi? Weather is shitty so I paid more attention to the road, thanks for the replies.

10-15psi at idle, and increasing approx 10psi/1krpm.
So pretty much, if you see 70psi oil pressure you should be good. If your beating on it and see 90psi, the 'beating on it' part should pretty much cover if your covered on the lube side.

Rob is correct, your oil pressure seems good. You should really get the rear main seal replaced. Any leak is a bad leak.

I see 60 psi at 3500 rpms in 3rd gear, and sometimes 115 psi at redline in 3rd gear...WOT of course

With 20w-50 I see 15-20 at warm idle and 40psi at cold start up. WOT it goes straight to 65psi from 3k till 8k. Cruising the speed limit is 40-50psi.

This is with no balance shafts and ported relief hole.

At idle it shows 40 psi but I beg to differ, I think my sender ground isn't quite right. Before it would show about 20 psi. On a cold start right now it is over 100psi, but drops to 60 while cruising at 65 mph in 5th. I think you are good!

oh I know it...I've been struggling as this is my first DSM, it seems to spring a leak everywhere I look. Just learned the oil pan has to be replaced since it seems to leak no matter what. I've tried 3 different RTV's and a gasket, still leaks! Then I put a wrong bolt into the rear main...cracked it in 2. Went to go somewhere the other day and the door handle snapped off. Is there a DSM fault check list you gotta completely do before the car will like you or something
