yea it is a good mod to do for 2 reasons:
1. the UPIC has a hugh kink in the line right after it comes out of the IC by the intake filter.
2. half the UICP and the whole LICP is rubber which makes it expand under WOT which is never good.

the whole point of a Intercooler is to get compressed air to the intake manifold right?

well the stock rubber piping cannot hold the compressed air and will EXPAND(bad thing). hence with hard piping it cannot be expanded and the air stays compressed after the Intercooler.

You can expect about +-10 hp from the Upper I/C alone.

Now the Lower I/C piping usually gets bent and pressed from its surroundings and can be restrictive, so if you get lower I/C piping as well it can help alot. Make sure you also clean your SMIC when you are redoing the piping.

also if someone has a a 1g you def want to get a 2g ported throttle elbow to allow more air to get to your intake manifold.

i recomend it too, and if you want to be a cheap person and you know how to tig weld. go to the tech articals and in the intake/exhaust section 98tsiawd has a very good tech article on how to make your own upper ic pipe.

i used his method, but i will warn you it is kinda a bastard to do. but well worth it

i spent 36 bucks all together(including shipping)

take out the SMIC and fill it with rubbing alcohol (some people use gasoline but i perfer rubbing alcohol), cover the ends & shake it, repeat until it comes out clean. I think i went throught 4 bottles until it came out clear:dsm:

I used to wonder why other GST owners complained of wheel spin in 2nd gear. Now I know. I'm not complaining though.

What the crap are you talking about, did i miss something? LOL

Yeah it does help out alot. You will notice a huge difference if your going from both stock ic pipes and the stock bov to both aftermarket! I recommend dejontool. Very good products, fast shipping, choice of colors and the list goes on. Check them out at http://www.dejontool.com
