2G IAC Stalling issue

Im currently looking to order an IAC for my 96 gst as a start to solving my stalling issue when rolling to a stop. Does it matter if the IAC is OEM or not? Because I refuse to pay 500 dollars on STM or MAPerformance for an OEM when carparts.com and rock auto are selling aftermarket’s for 30-60 bucks. Will this hurt my vehicle?

I have never had issues using oem rep parts from rock auto or.... especially an isc motor.. alot of people prefer to use oem but alot of it works the same. If your worried about it see if any of your local pick and pulls/junkyards have any dsms around a go yank one.. any 91-99 dsm tb iac will work. Bring a multimeter with you just in case to make sure it's a good unit and you don't pay for trash.

good advice thank you. I’ll probably run with the aftermarket first and see how it goes.

If you grab a black plastic one they are preferred over the original metal/beige connector versions which tended to short out and damage the ECU.
