Ok I was putting my exhaust manifold on, and while tightening the nuts onto one of the bolts, the bolt snapped off. I really am down to my last dregs of patience nor do I have the tools to drill it out. What's the worst that could happen if only one nut isn't on?

Well ive driven my car with out 2 nuts on it, i just made sure the rest of them were
securely on. whats the worse, should matter that much because there are several
bolts holding the manifold on. i havent problems with at least 2 of them missing
the nuts.

The snapped stud isn`t really that difficult to extract & replace. I know that you`re frustrated right now, it`s not a big deal. Yes you can run ok with a missing fastener. However, you ARE going to want to fix it. To do this, you need to remove the manifold again (sorry) & drill into the broken stud with a nice sharp 1/8 in drill bit & use an easy-out of the appropriate size to extract the stud, trust me it`s not that hard, you just need to be patient & drill carefully & as straight as you can (there is plenty of room to do it with the mani off). You can do it . . . :talon:

If you need to put off extracting it for a bit I would just make sure all the other ones are secure (and be careful not to over-torque them!). I ran with a stripped out stud for a long time with no noticeable leaks.

Yeah I really don't want to take it off. Believe it or not, I don't have access to a drill. It's the FP Manifold so I really, really wanted to put it on and feel the power. What are the torque specs to it anyway? Nobody really mentioned them, and the write-up on the installation in the tech articles didn't mention any either. I just tightened them, ran really hard, then retightened.

I snapped a stud on mine. Those damn easy-outs suck... they don't work. I think the best thing to get, that is if you can get a drill and try to fix it, would be a drill bit that spins in the opposite direction. (Left hand threads I think is what they call it??) This way, as you drill in, it will constantly be wanting to unscrew the stud. I think that would work best.

Also, I had a leak between my manifold and the head, which is why I snapped one, and after putting the new gasket in AND having the stud fixed and tight, it was still leaking a bit. So I guess it would all depend on how well the other bolts are holding everything together. (The one I snapped was the far left one, so it was holding a corner.)

I agree with TALONTRAX. I would use the easyout and I would go ahead and do as soon as possible while it is fresh in you mind. If it gets put off, it may never get done.
