hey guys so i start my car for the first time after the turbo install. i started it up and it quit. i turned it over again this time it started and stayed on, i noticed the exhaust manifold was smoking. so i figured i have a exhaust leak cus the smoke was coming from the engine. the more i stepped on the gas the more the smoke came out? this exhaust leak????
so i shut my car off and went to tighten the exhaust manifold bolts. i snapped the top left bolt right out of the engine block............ all the bolt snapped out im pretty sure.. what the hell do now? need some help really really bad! also, should i also get a new gasket for the manifold to engine block?? probably wouldnt be a good idea huh//

the smoke probably was just grease and oil from your hands when you were installing it. the broken stud might or might not affect it....it should be fixed but you could try and drive it around let it run for a while and see if it stops smoking. that would indicate that its just oil and grease from the install. i ran mine with 3 broken studs(well they werent broken but i bought the head off dsmtrader and it had been over drilled and rethreaded and at the time i didnt know it so i had to get the car running and didnt have the right bolts) any way i have no exhaust leak. i did just take my turbo off again for an O2 housing and i am replacing the studs and finding the right size since its off but i wouldnt go out of my way to do it if not needed
