I want to buy a dsm. questions?

I know i want a 1g awd turbo what year should i get and what should i look for i have been looking now and prices for cars vary alot. What do you guys reccomend i just need the car to last like 3-4 years and i want to run mid to high 12 so i will do all the stg 1 mods and some more to get a little more power. I have about 2000 and i want to spend as little on the car as possible so i have some to start modding but i dont know exactly what i should look for if someone can help find me a car im in nj so anywhere semi nearby would be good. Thanx

You probably won't be able to get a good Eclipse or Talon for that much, but you might be able to find a Laser. However, you probably won't have any money left for mods. Take a look at the classifieds on this site to give you an idea of prices.

Any DSM is a good platform, 1g, 2g. The 1g/2g have their own pros and cons compared to eachother.
Search around see what you like and watch prices closely. Every so often a DSM is priced to sell quick for 2k or less (1g) and 4k or less (2g)
