I found a sweet 95 eagle talon TSI/AWD. I knew about these cars but never dreamed I would own one, (to expensive when they were new, hard to find one in decent shape these days).

The car I found is basically mint. Has 35k original miles (3 owners).

Mods:
Evo Wheels - New tires
3 inch exhaust, high flow cat
Apex Fuel Controller
Aftermarket weighted shift knob

The asking price is $6k, may be able to get it for a little less.

My questions are this:
1. In your opinion would you pay $6k for this car (I know there is a thread for this, and it states pay what you think its worth, im only asking for opinions).

2. With the mods it has is there anything that I should look for since it has such low miles? What is a good sign that the car was abused? Anything I should keep my eyes open for since it does have such low miles?

3. It has 2 open recalls:
Manufacturer Safety recall issued
#780 TRANSFER CASE OIL LEAKS
Manufacturer Safety recall issued
#967 LOWER LATERAL ARM BALL JOINT

How important are these recalls? Is it still possible to get these recalls taken care of at a mitsubishi dealer?

4. The clear on the mirrors is cracking. Any idea what it would cost to get them recleared?

Thanks for any input that you may have!

was worried there for a minute. Upon second look at a higher res picture, looks like its plugged with a rubber plug.

Doing some research, I found that 95-96 have an internal CAS? Correct me if I'm wrong.

What is the best Valve cover gasket to get, anyone have a preferred vendor to deal with for this gasket?

yeah i didn't check it out and wasn't thinking. but i think they do actually have the internal ones. looks normal. and generally any will do ok. i got mine off of rockauto.com. pretty cheap.

Does anyone else see anything to note about the engine in the pics? I am going to do a compression test, but everything else looks stock to you guys right?

The owner did just tell me its lowered on unknown manufacture springs, and koni yellows.

Only thing i see to note is that it looks spotless! Yes, it all looks bone stock. Compression shouldnt really be a worry with that kind of mileage. But it is never a bad idea to have one done just to be sure.

And as stated above, the VC gasket is a simple fix. All you need is a gasket and some RTV.

You found a gem there, I hope you end up with it. :thumb:

Congrats dude. :thumb: That is a damn nice DSM. Can you send me some more pics of your intrior? My 97 has tan as well and I want to see if it is a different tan in 95 than they had in 97. My tan looks to be a lighter color than yours. Could you PM them to me please?

hmm. I somehow dig the interior... Looks clean; I'd go for it, I'd try to get it for maybe 5,800 or 5,600 although 6k is very reasonable. Nice find & good luck! :thumb:

Kind of reminds my of my old Saturn SC2 (I know, I know not even close to being the same). It was however the same colors.

As you can see my first mod was my fuzzy dice from my old saturn :thumb:

Its getting clay barred and waxed throughout the week in my spare time. Will take better pics of the exterior when its finished.

My plans:

Sell the evo 9 wheels.

Get a set of 5zigen gn+ bronze 17's:

Powder coat the valve cover bronze.

Replace valve cover bolts with hex/stainless steel.

Replace the valve cover gasket.

Replace aftermarket shift knob with OEM leather knob.

Replace gas hatch shocks.

Get the sidview mirrors recleared.

Get the front bumper repainted (scraped underneath).

That's about all for now.

You should put one of these in there. It will take like 4 inches the shifter. That honda looking shift knob makes them rediculously tall.

Thanks for the interior pics BTW. :thumb:
