hey guys I tried to search this topic but failed to find what Im looking for...
as you can see I have a 96 spyder gst, with a little bit of bolt on goodies ... still on stock fuel system and stock t25, a friend of mine has a 14b that needs to be rebuilt so he will sell it to me after he builds it. I basically want stock evo horse power... 280-290 what do you guys recommend for me to do next... or is the 14b too small for my goal, he has not built it yet and I have seen on ebay the compressor housings and wheels of 16gs and 18gs and even 20gs that can be put on the 14b turbo what do you guys think I should do?:dsm:

Well the easiest way to get that power is to get 16g turbo, 550cc fuel injectors, 190 walbro fuel pump, and an safc, also a logger. That will get you there, once it is tuned.

Done correctly you could lay down 300whp on that 14b and killing evo's. Put that badboy on, and get the supporting mods needed and you will have you goal.

thanks for the advice guys I will try to rebuild the turbo with my buddy and give it a good port job and the manifold too while I'm at it... then maby a 190 fuel pump and a safc with 550cc injectors and a good tune and see what I get with 93 oct. pump gas, I want to port & polish my head and do a valve job as well hope to be done by summer..... mabe I'll just go crazzzy and sell my gst and get an evo x :)

well i was making 340hp on a stock 6cm 14b on e85 20psi on stock intake manny.
it can be done but you need to have all the supporting mods fist.

I dont plan on getting something slower... Im looking to up grade

The EVO is an upgrade, no matter how you look at it. Upgraded they are a whole different beast. But yes, there are plenty of upgraded DSM's that will walk near stock EVO's. :rocks:

That is the best route go. Also, if you get into head work, make sure you buy cams/springs. You can get both from BC for about $500 for everything, great deal. Also, without a SMIM, porting your head won't do much since the stock IM will be such a big restriction.

then maybe a bigger throttle body like the 1g 63cm and gasket match the intake or should I just get a bigger one remember I dont want alot of power... this is my daily driver and I want safe and reliable power and something that wont tear up my stock tranny.

ouch bro I was just kidding LOL I dont plan on getting something slower... Im looking to up grade ROFL

Please tell me you don't honestly believe an EVO is slower than an Eclipse? With my IX I only had an intake, tbe, mbc & ECUflash and ran 12's flat. The X is proving to be even more responsive to mods (AMS got almost 100whp with a few basic bolt-ons, no tuning, & Vishnu got near the same with just a piggyback and no mods). You can't compare the 2 cars. I don't care if they are both Mitsus and both have a 4G63 (except the X-4B11). Don't get me wrong I love my 2G, butit just isn't the same as my IX.

dont take what I said literally I was just joking.... LOL I do plan to get a new evo x mr with the cvt tranny and give my 2g to my wife....heh heh heh :)
