i think we have a problem

Ok... so i have been reading about this skateboard mod and thought it sounded cheap and easy and such. right?... Hmmm... maybe if i knew exactly WHERE to look i guess. Now i know on the 2gnt the tranny is on the drivers side under our air intake. Check, intake off. figuring i would probably have to remove the battery and the battery platform and maybe even what is under that... am i right? What exactly am i looking for?

Just taking a gander at what i am going to be doing... i got the skateboard bearings out... holy hell those are small little things arent they? or did i get the wrong thing? Well anyways... after looking at the pics on here as to the horizontal and vertical links... could this just be a 2gnt thing and the links are both horizontal? i am not seeing 2 things that look like that. given i didnt dig that deep. but this is what i have found...

Am i even looking at the right freaking thing or is this something totally different? the bearings that i have appear as if they would fit but i thought i should ask first.

PROBLEM NUMBER TWO
When i was looking around i noticed a plug that has no attachment. No connection i could reach it to. Nothing i could find unhooked besides this... what is this? ...As you can see it is right under the intake, along the egr tube. What is it? Where does it go to?

PROBLEM NUMBER THREE

as you can also see i apparently have an oil leak or something. it could be from before my last modification and i just never noticed it... but at the same time i did. What i mean about that is i believed i have a valve cover gasket leak, which was oe of the reasons for me to want to do the last mod i just did. But... how could you tell if it's new or old? Prob a really stupid question and a noob one at that. but i thought i would bring it up as well.

1st. the bearings are for the cables in the pictures you took. yes and they are a beoch to put in the n/t 2g eclipse due to space and how the cables are mounted.

2nd. that plug might be for an automatic thing or sumthing. everything is running and nothing pops up on the OBD reading so its probably ok and suppose to be there.

3rd. that oil in certain spots looks fresh. in picture number 4 the valve cover looks to be leaking and in picture number 6 the oil on the metal braket under the plug appears to be fresh oil. it looks tan in color so it cant be that old.

But Coffee is absolutely correct.

I'd say that since you just did your cams and such, this is likely oil on your part. Check the Valve Cover gasket again. Then clean all that stuff up. I know it sounds tedious, but you might as well and figure out if it's JUST the VC gasket. Be safe. ^^

K... update... got everything out of the way for the bearing mod. working on one side at a time. Got the rubber off on one side, that was rather easy. Just slowly sanding down to make the bearings fit now.

that random plug i found out is the oil pressure dummy light i guess. But its worthless now, since i have a gauge for that.

oil leak... definitely my VC... gonna fix that while im doing the skateboard mod here. Just one piece at a time.

Just make sure to torque the valve cover to specs and in the correct pattern and you're leak will be gone.

thin layer of RTV on a cleaned surface will do just fine. not to much to where its globbing out of the sides of the VC thow. just a thin layer to keep it sealed and keep it clean.

Yeah. I always put the gasket in, and put a very thin layer over the flat bottom of the gasket. Gives it a nice, tight seal. ;D

just checking up on your progress. did you get that leak fixed yet. and how hard was it to get the bearing mods finished if you did do it allready.
