of what the top part of the lower timing belt cover rests against to keep it from rubbing against the exhaust cam gear. My lower timing belt cover is rubbing against it because whatever should brace it was accidentally removed but I don't remember what was holding it in place. Can anyone please take an upclose clear picture of what the bracket/brace looks like and where it bolts on please?

Thanks tuners,
Matt

the timing belt cover bolts to the block it can't rub against the exhuast. Give me about 45 minutes and I 'll post some pics.

to better explain take a look at the picture below. I need an upclose picture of what that timing belt cover screw bolts to that is in highlighted. I think that is one of the two screws that hold the upper and lower together but it's been so long since I had the upper on I can't remember. I need the picture taken from the passenger side kinda. There is some bracket that goes there behind the engine mount to keep it from rubbing, maybe the same bracket or a similar bracket used to hoist the engine out of the engine bay but I'm not sure. It's a tough angle and I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!

There is a small tin plate on both the intake and exhauts side of the motor. The upper cover bolts to those and if they are bent they can "pull" the upper cover against the timming gears. I don;t have a pic, but mine were bent pretty bad so when I rebuilt the motor I bent them back into place.

I did my rebuild and I don't know what that plate looked like or what it was bolted to to hold it in place. Can you take a look and tell me what it's bolted to? It has a threaded hole in it for the timing belt cover screw right? Is it identical to the intake side tin plate?

They are bolted to the block if I remember correct. They are different shapes and one will not bolt into the place of the other.

Yes it has a threaded portion that the small 10mm bolt goes into.
