Every minute I'm on here I'm at work. I like cars with stances where the wheels have a healthy but not truck-like distance from the wheel wells, where alignment is proper, and a medium sidewall. Kinda don't like when wheels stick out too wide, nor too far in. If I see pictures I'll post back.

The wheel can be wide as hell. But only if the car can handle it without needing -13 degrees of camber to use is. And a proper fitting tire on the wheel also. A 6inch wide tire on a 9 inch wheel serves no purpose beside "look what i can do" status

Please explain how having a roof rack makes your car "awesome". Roof racks don't make a vehicle look any better at all and sometimes make it look worse.

I'll be putting one on my DSM only because I'll be USING IT to transport my mountain bike. When I'm not using it, it's coming off.

Did you not read the rest of my post saying it will be used for luggage and carrying things around since my Colt is tiny.. And im sorry i like how they look on cars? I guess its my thing. Just like why do you like dsm's? It's your personal preference.

as a full time mechanic, and a 24/7 car enthusiast, I try to find something interesting in every type of "modding" with cars. hell yeah i love my dsm's, but i miss my "stanced" jetta, and for damn sure ill be buying a 240 next and making it hellaflush with some power. ANY type of car can be respected if its clean and done right. Who cares if it looks stupid or isn't functional..just have fun with it! Half of these SLAMMED VW's go through oil pans like us DSMer's go through clutches, but it takes balls to go as low as they do!
point being...broaden your style and have fun, who knows... in 10 years cars probably wont have tires anymore...

Lol "hellaflush" that's something alot of euros are doing these days. My car us currently flush in the rear... I hate it. I have so much negative camber that my rear tires don't last me at all. Like 4 degrees... It's pointless. My coilovers should be here next week tho =]

Hellaflush is not defined by uber crazy amounts of camber and motorcycle tires put on 10" wide rims.


Hella-flush is when you look down the side of the car, and the wheels do not stick out any further then the body of the car, and they do not go in any further then the body of the car. They are flush with the side of the car, hence the name Hellaflush

Hellaflush <<<< all about perfect offset, not Slammed to shit with camber that makes it look like your car might be a hover craft. Just clean, Decent Drop, and real clean.

In my OP i used Hellaflush as an example of what I was talking about obviously, much like alot of popular overused, and very annoying hiphop lingo kind of car terms such as JDM, and or ricer is used out of context (guilty of using ricer out of original context daily) don't get me even started on those too. JDM being the worse.

I didn't realize how many people didn't understand what hellaflush is. Alot of these cars that are just so ridiculously low, you don't understand how they drove anywhere are on Air bag suspension which is adjustable height that is quickly changed in cab. Honestly I think if all you wanna do is be low as #### Airbags are the way to go because you can get over any bump, and still be low as shit.

and yes it is possible to be slammed, and still be drivable, and yeah so what if you scrape on a few things. Welcome to having a car with performance in mind (maybe) once again my BMW, was basically my track car, (it doubled as my DD till i got the Talon) it was all function, and yanno what, I still scraped. Mainly on speed bumps, but that was because of my exhaust system. I lower my car's both for looks and handling, but when I do it, I make sure i don't do anything that might ruin my handling.

I did not make the assumption it was going to be used so I apologize for that part. But again, as per my question, what makes a roof rack "awesome". No need to get defensive about it. I'm just trying to understand what it is a out racks that cause others to steal then off another persons car to put it on theirs and never use it.
