I don't care if you think I got a good deal :)

I had the same kinda problem with that crap, jail and so forth before..It's not fun..But it's been over 7 years now, and I'm glad I have a better hobby than that crap I used to put into my body..Although I wish I had more money..But I ain't got any right now..But I still have a gsx so life is well..

Anyway Congreats OP..

There is no fight, just a guy who breaks the very same rules he complains about others breaking and takes credit for knowledge he doesn't possess, when guys like calan, who have proven time and time again to be knowledgeable and proven don't ever act like this.

If you got what you wanted then all the power to you.

On a side note, I just bought a 92 talon tsi for $150. Just gotta rip apart the motor and see what the damage was. Can we say track car or maybe winter beater... we'll see.

Have fun with it, that's all that matters. It is just a car and just money...

you guys get way to worked up over this internet shit. Drop the shit already. If the O.P is happy about forking an assload of money over for a car thats worth about 3k less than what he payed then thats his business. People keep saying " Oh this thread is about the O.P thats whats important" blah blah blah, and yet some of you managed to turn this whole damn thread into a thread about you with some dumbass argument cause u weren't mature enough to just let it go.

Yes it is a car and it is just money. Both replaceable! And Bud92gsx thank you. It's good to see someone else out there making themselves better from their past and openly admitting it, good job! And a little more insight on why I spent more than what most people see as a "good deal"

1 year ago my boss owned it and the turbo went bad so he bought an evo III big 16g from extreme psi, and copper ex gasket, and tubular headers, wrap, and little things.

6 months ago my girlfriend bought the car. She had never paid for and owned her own car before, so me and my boss gave her a chance at this one. It would of been mine but when there is a girl involved...well most of you know!

The car did amazingly well. We did not put tons of money into it, so it would be paid for sooner (would of been last month).

2 months ago the timing belt snapped. 1 week prior it had passed a visual inspection by me and 2 other experienced mechanics. I still don't know why it snapped, the balance shaft belt was good, the oil pump was good, no pulley's were ceased, tensioner works properly, still a little confused. But my girl was taking me back to jail when this happened so we're 40 minutes from anyone that can help us at 830 pm. So my boss call's us a tow truck, he's almost too nice sometimes.

1 month ago me and my girl break up. The title is in her name, the car is not paid for, and she turned psycho. Again most of you know what i'm going through at that time. And the car is in pieces from doing the BSE kit. Had to tilt the engine quite a bit to get that out and THAT IS WHY the axle popped out when my friend rolled it 100ft. I tried explaining to him to get the motor mounts on at least and things tightedned up underneath, obviously didn't listen too well. But I can't complain he did try, and the damage isn't too horribly bad.

So now currently to make everyone happy, The ex-girl got 1700 back so that my boss could get the car back into his posession legally. It went to my house but his posession. So my boss bought the car, then had me put a brand new turbo on it, the COP, ex. mani, and a few things, and then paid the 1700 to the ex-girl, and then there's the towing fee I feel that I should still pay for even though the ex should. So all together he has helped me ALOT and he has invested quite a bit of money in here. Now to most people the money he spent for turbo etc. doesn't matter when selling. But if it wasn't for my boss I would of spent 1 long year in county jail with NO freedom. So this guy has gone through a big pain in the ass with me for a very long time and dealt with ALOT of my problems in life. The least I could do to repay him is be a good honest worker for him and pay for the damages to get the car running again. So me buying the car, and paying for the damages works out to where he makes a LITTLE bit of money, and made the ex happy, and making me EXTREMELY happy. :D

Thanks D's Gs-t. I don't mind people doing their thing, but lets all keep happy here. I'm having a good day who's down to join me???

And the reasoning for the title is because i'm always seeing these title's asking "did i get a good deal" I'm sick of those and I know alot of people here are too, so I made mine into "I don't care if you think I got a good deal" title. And that way I still get to talk about my amazing car, and let you all know 1 more is going to be taken care of.

congrats on the new start/car. sounds like you didn't get that bad of a deal to me 5200 total for an awd that sounds like your probably pushing or atleast capable of over 300 hp and you're the one who has done most of the work to the car in the first place. congrats on turning that project car of someone elses into yours. now you'll have more prurpose and pride in it. :thumb: dont let clowns with money put you down

HG,
Not sure how I broke any rules, it's a thread in the hangout so yeah, not going to give "technical" info... I'm pretty sure I'm on DSM #7, and I'm sure they all had more HP than your pos. And last but no lease, it's funny you feel threatened over someone saying "hush"... But for the record, I'll be at the shootout... So please come track me down and see if I crawl under a rock... Everyones a fighter in the Internet, at work, in the military... When the round sign drops, the bullsh1t stops.

OP, good luck with your car.

At least I built my car.

Damn, didn't know you were on the assembly line... Oh wait. This is such a stupid excuse, that generally people without money use. It's generally always cheaper to buy a car that's already built than build one yourself. LOLZzzzZ.

And before the, well I don't want someone else's problems excuse, that's not always true.

I bought my 98 Spyder in 2003 with 21K miles on it for 10,000.00 because it had a 2.4L engine. I swapped it to the 4G63 head back in 2004 when most people here didn't have a clue about stroker builds. My engine is fully built. It also is in the process of being compounded (just fabricating up the manifold now). I also have begun an AWD swap. My car now has 41,7XX miles on it, was never driven in winter and came from Florida, stored in a garage each and every year. So, you can laugh at my "N/T" Spyder all you want. At the end of the day, I am driving a compound turbocharged AWD car with the top down. I'll take that over your pieces of junk everyday.

I don't believe in bench racing, so I have no idea what HP it will put down on the dyno, but if we use other similarly built cars as reference. I am hoping from anywhere from 650 to 700 to the wheels.

Like I care what you think about my car. Broke-ass.

Did I mention I built it myself?

You're talking to the wrong person. I'm neither broke, nor did I buy a built car. I've modded/built all of my cars in my profile, plus more. It is a fact it's cheaper to buy a built car, cry all you want.

BTW, my 1G has only 10k miles more than your 2G ROFL

I don't care if it's cheaper, it's his money, I do care when a guy who had nothing to do with how his car got where it is starts acting like he knows crap and is above people here. Bragging about how his car has 600 hp when it was built by another person is like bragging about someone else getting your wife pregnant.

Can't get upset when someone craps all over your post about buying a car and then come and crap all over someone else's post about the same thing. Respect is a two way street and this kid has none. He also wants to recognized for knowledge he doesn't possess or accomplishments that aren't his own.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Our cars are worthless, we are the community that doesn't fit in anywhere, and idiots give our cars a bad reputation.

If you guys want something to do, go buy more DSM junk and fix it, enough with this e-penis batte.

*sigh*

How about you guys enforce the rules equally?

No insults, smart ass replies, or elitist attitudes. Do not act like a moderator and remind others of our rules, or nitpick when a member makes a grammatical mistake or asks a repetitive question. Report the post and move on.

I would say telling someone they got ripped off is an insult. I would also say acting like you are better than someone because you give "advice" (apparently a very loose definition now) is an elitist attitude. I would also say telling someone to hush is acting like a moderator.

That's three rules in one thread he has broken, the very same rules he has complained about in his own posts in the past when people break them. I'll take my warnings, make sure his little VIP title doesn't blind your ability to keep your own forum in check.

Ah, I see you weren't addressing me at all then in that last post, whoops :shhh:

Haha I'm liking this thread. It would be nice to have a few irrelivent posts deleted, and it would be nice to win the lottery! I like seeing people that build their own cars and modify them to their likings. I see nothing wrong with buying a built car, however we will see how long a certain someone can keep the PO work not wasted. Imo, if you buy a built car then you should be able to treat it like you built it and continue the work that's already been done. It's the people that buy built sh!t and run it until it dies and leaves them to rust that really really piss me off. And if you're getting butt hurt in the hangout forum, then you have serious issues that should be professionally addressed. If u don't like my posts, don't waste your time reading and replying, isn't that simple?

So any more stories of the sad money pits we have? And how easy the decision is to continuously dump money into a dsm?

Thanks for trying!! Haha :ohdamn:

You should care when the guy who claims to give all this "valuable advice" is making posts about the frustrations of a simple alternator replacement. Or, when they act like they know all the nuances and intricate details learned by actually building from the ground up. Or, when he decides to rain on your parade.

Anyone can have a 10 second car with enough money, drop it off at a shop, hand them money and come pick it up. The people who earn respect are the ones who slaved and turned wrenches and learned all the little things we now know through hard work and experience. Those are the true people we owe our reverence too. If I go drop 80 grand or more on a GT-R and run 11's, do I now automatically have value to the tuning community in the way of knowledge? Absolutely not. It would be fine if he didn't act like he has done the forum a service by buying a 10 second car or displays his hypocrisy for the world over to see. Unfortunately, that's well above his ability.

You don't have to look far....try just below your post. :D

Nothing like someone complaining about others acting like Moderators telling the actual Moderators how to do their job.

I am not telling you how to do your job, I am asking you to do it, since I reported the post hours ago.
