I am lost need help!

Ok, so when i bought my 95 GSX it kind of smelled like gas. Since then ive had tried over and over to get rid of the smell with air freshners and leaving the windows down etc etc. I am curious as to what the problem is. My fuel line is fine its not leaking or anything but i do have a 255lph fuel pump. My SAFC isnt installed so i could just be running rich causing the smell. Also, could a bad fuel filter be causing the smell in the car? On top of that if anyone has any ideas or solutions to clearing a car of a bad smell lemme know. Thanks

If the car runs rich them yes you will get a gas smell. This is becasue that pump will overrun the stock fuel pressure regulator. Get an aftermarket one or a smaller pump and it will help. The other thing to check is the charcoal canister. The gas tan vents fumes out to the atmosphere. When it does this it will smell like gas fairly bad. to combat this smell the vapors are routed through a canister filled with charcoal. It is located under the battery tray and may a bi*** to get out or look at. Make sure all the lines are connected and they are clogged.

Yank your back seat, pull the covers and look for seepage from either the fuel pump or the second level sensor.
