hydro/vapor lock?

So... I live at high altitude (10,000' plus) It is friggin COOOOLd here...


in the morning , over the pass -goin to work,,,


the temp fluctuates like an idiot...


once I stop, open the radiator cap and spray hot antifreeze on everything...



the temp chaos stops and I can drive like a kamikaze once again...


what could be causing this?


also, low oil pressure at idle but OK pressure at "rag-on" conditions ??? whazup?

Definitely not hydrolock, that's an entirely different elephant.

Stuck thermostat, failed water pump impeller, or -in your case- halucination.
