* * 1998 RS Hydro Lock?

Ok So I am having a great time with my dsm first i thought the lifter was tcking if not more than one second I am throwing eng codes like crazy they are as follows P0300,P0301,P0302 they read as miss fires I know how to check for hydro lock but is it common on a 420 motor if so how do i fix it

You are getting the P0300 because of the other two.

And hydrolock implies that you submerged your intake piping in enough water to ingest water into the motor. Had you done so, your motor wouldn't be running allowing you to hear this "tick"

I tried to search.. My father is a mechanic for 25 some years he is pretty sure that the cylinder filled with fuel due to injectors not working properly. The motor the ticking is of course another problem in its self but thanks.....

Hydro-lock means water in the cylinders. Water doesn't compress so it pretty much tears your motor up at high speeds but if theres unburnt fuel in the cylinders then its just flooded. Take off the intake piping and just hold the throttle wide open and try to start the car over and over to burn that "fuel" you say is in there...

Well Thank you... The reason I know it is fuel is it has not been in the rain since I have had it nor ponds. creeks, or rivers for that matter. I took the plugs out and you can smell gas, Plus when she does fire over she is running severely rich. I will try this and thanks for your time.

Chances are you are going to need a new set of plugs after it. A flooded car usually fouls them up some good and if they are bad to begin with it can cause flooding.

What your father probably said was Vapor-lock, which is having to do with fuel in the cylinder,not water.

Yea That seems like what it was altho now I have a blown head. The chick I purchased it from had her brother do the head and didnt have it milled not to mention most of all the bolts were finger tight.... So I am just going to rebuild the whole motor..
