Hey guys, I finally got the engine fired up an just wanted to make a thread about the pressure at the turbo.

Fed from a ported OFH with a -4an line unrestricted and a -12an drain and ported pan my oil pressure settled to about 17psi at 1100rpm idle. I'm expecting that to drop a little more once I straighten out the idle. Just wanted to let everyone know that a proper -12an drain seems to be perfect if you want to run unrestricted.

Ill update with pressure numbers throughout The rpm range soon...

Alright to update: pressure gets up to about 60-70 psi @4.5-5k hits 80psi at 6k and stays there till 7.5 when I get off. Doesn't get much more perfect then that. Obviously the ported filter housing has a lot to do with it because my engine pressure is the exact same way; doesn't climb past 85psi when the relief valve opens up.:thumb:

I've been feeding holsets since 2005 from the OFH with #6 line unrestricted with modified stock 2g oil drain. My OFH is not ported so my oil pressure hits 100 psi at about 5000 rpms and I really don't know how much pressure I have at 8500 rpms because my gauge only reads to 100 psi. I've had this high oil pressure for about 8 years now with no side effects. I think higher oil pressure is better for the engine when you rev it to 9000 rpms and make over 500 whp, for this reason I didn't port my OFH.
