So I have a 99 Eclipse GS and the HVAC control switch (temp control, fan speed, position) doesn't always light up. It will sometimes but then if I turn any of the knobs or go over a bump it'll go off. I believe it's a ground issue but can anyone tell me where it's grounded to?

Any help would be awesome!

So far the only lighting I've done in my current DSM, and my last one, is the gauges, switches, and the floor lighting. I replaced the stock bulbs with white LED bulbs. Looks better. Once my Spyder goes into full overhaul and I get all the black interior parts, I'm doing the door pocket lights again, but that's it.

I wanna do that with the door lights and the same thing with the lights in the rear view mirror if I can. And then I wanna do it for the headlights and tail lights too

So something like my head lights and the tails lights on my last Eclipse? I hate the mirror lights. On the Spyders, they can't be turned off so I swapped my rear view with an auto-dimming one that doesn't have dome lights.

Yeah like that!!! How did they look at night??? And I wanna put a strip in the center for the tail lights that way the light up straight across

Here's how the fronts look on my current one. Haven't done the tail lights yet, but they will be similar to the new gen Dodge Chargers. The bottom pic is with only the LEDs on, just looks different because of other light sources.

Ill look on superbright. I don't wanna be like everyone else that does halos or hids. I was going to originally but I like the stock look of the headlights

Yeah I mean if I could pick up some hids for not very expensive I would if I couldn't put LEDs in the headlights but it prefer not too

Makes sense. I'm sure there will be LED conversions available soon if they aren't already. LED head lights are finally becoming more mainstream in the industry. So it's just a matter of waiting now.

Here's some, but only for DRLs and they don't carry 9005s or 9006s..

What kindve conversion would I have to do?? I wish just looking for some kindve plug and ready kinda thing ya know? Something like that. I guess I'll see what they have at the junk yard. By the way while I'm there do you need anything for your car???

If you did a conversion, it'd involve a lot of wiring to convert the 9006 & 9005 bulb connectors to whatever you're installing in their place. Just depends on what's being installed. Like for HIDs, you'd have to wire in ballast boxes because of the power differences. For LED head lights, I'm not sure... yet ;)

If you happen to find a Spyder, I have to replace the weather stripping for the top. But most in the junk yards are just as bad due to age and dry rotting. Gonna have to buy brand new seals most likely.

I might just end up doing a blueish hid conversion kinda thing. But I'll probably get new headlights becuz mine are fogged over. And if I see any ill take a look. All I know is they have a 97 I don't know what make or model it is

I've heard that that's the best one to use just never tried any of em. I used to power wash my car twice a week and that took care of the fogged over ness

I haven't washed my car in a while....I really need too.....it's really dirty. I think I'm gonna try to munigers kit for cleaning the lights and see how it looks. My autos teacher recommended it to me a few months ago. Why's the top leak?

The weather stripping is bad and the waterproof lining on the inside on the canvas is all gone, so water soaks through the canvas and gets everything wet. Having the top up during rainy weather is barely better than having the top down in the same conditions.

Damn so what do you usually park it in your garage? Or does it just get soaked whenever it rains?? And do u have any other cars except your spyder

My roommates have their cars (which I hate), but I park in the garage as much as possible, which has been every night for a couple weeks now. I think they finally took me serious when I said I want my car garaged to keep it safe from rain and retards. Plus since I'm awake all night, My car being in the garage provides an outlet for my insomnia.
