Alright. After reading through all the the HVAC lighting ideas and ruling out wanting to use LED's (just too much work for me). I decided I was just gonna see if I could find a blue bulb to swap out the bulb that lights the HVAC. Well, after looking on Ebay I've found that they now make direct replacement LED bulbs that will plug right into exhisting factory bulb placements. Well, I can find the size for the foot lights and glove box. But I can't seem to find the size for the HVAC. If anyone knows of another size (I'm looking for size 74, doesn't seem right) I might be able to look under please let me know. Thanks a bunch.

I've looked all around for LED's that will and fit and there are none to be found. The LED mod is the only way to go, it's not that hard anyways....

74 is correct.
BULB APP GUIDE

If you know what it looks like, perhaps there a different manufacturer that makes it with a different #. I know 168 & 194(i think) are interchangable.

vrad makes LEDS that are 'plug =n= play' all ready got the proper restiance in them.. they just got a red/black wire you hook up.

That should be LED. The rest of their bulbs are.

Sorry, didn't see your reply. Hmmm... you think? Not all of the bulbs there are LED. Some are just the regular bulbs. Maybe I'll email and see. If they are, this makes changing light colors way easier (HVAC, Ciggerette lighter ring, ingnition ring, and more).

Wow, what a great quick response:
"HI- The blue #74 we have listed currently is not an led.

We will have #74 leds in all colors in 2-3 weeks on the website.

Thanks.

Chris-- "

I will definitely be looking forward to getting some of these. Makes the job of soldering your own LED's obsolete. Anyone who is interested, keep a lookout at http://autolumination.com/ for the size 74 LED replacement bulbs!

Okay guys. I did some more looking around because I just can't wait 2-3 weeks :), never can. I found a direct LED replacement for size 73 http://www.happcontrols.com/index.html?http://www.happcontrols.com/pushbuttons/91115700.htm!, and from what I can put together by looking at this page http://www.ledtronics.com/datasheets/Pages/miniature_based_led_products/012a.pdf, is that 18, 37, 73, & 74 are all the same size. If anyone knows this to be true or is able to conclude the same thing I have with near certainty please respond. I am emailing the company of the second site I have listed to get some answers.

Great find jrider!

Just look under products, automotive based and they have pretty much anything we could ask for. And it says right on their site that the:

T1½ (4.5mm) Midget Wedge Based Bulb replaces Incandescent 18, 37, 70, 73, 74 bulbs.

Bad part is that its a minimum order of 10 @ $9.50 each :(

I know, $9.50 is just too much- especially when you have to buy at least 10 (granted they do have everything you could ever need). But hey, if you check out http://www.happcontrols.com/ and do a search for 'LED' or 'Wedge' or '73', and I think (says will fit 73) you'll find what you're looking for at a much reasonable price: like $3.50 or so- the more you buy, the cheaper they are. I just can't seem to find the brightness of the LED's anywhere. If anyone tracks it down, let us know!

The bulbs come out with a gentle ¼-turn. I don't know if the dealer carries the stupid little bulb holder, or if they even come out of the holder.

My HVAC(Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning) controls in my 95 Eclipse do not light up. I do not believe it to be a fuse as every other light throughout the car/dash does light up. I have removed the CD player and stuck my hand behind the HVAC control unit but I cannot seem to feel my way around to a lightbulb. Is this just a lightbulb replacement, and do I have to remove the entire HVAC assembly?

Hey i was going to change the bulbs in my cluster and hvac bulbs in the dash, does anyone know the size to use or model number. The dealership didnt know and said to just take them out and go to radioshack. Good idea but want to switch to leds and may have order or find them first. So any help would be sweet. Thanx
