Alright. After reading through all the the HVAC lighting ideas and ruling out wanting to use LED's (just too much work for me). I decided I was just gonna see if I could find a blue bulb to swap out the bulb that lights the HVAC. Well, after looking on Ebay I've found that they now make direct replacement LED bulbs that will plug right into exhisting factory bulb placements. Well, I can find the size for the foot lights and glove box. But I can't seem to find the size for the HVAC. If anyone knows of another size (I'm looking for size 74, doesn't seem right) I might be able to look under please let me know. Thanks a bunch.

It's one 74 bulb for the whole HVAC. Be careful on the lengths of a replacement LED, I've tried 3-4 different kinds and they don't fit properly. Even replacement Autozone/Canadian Tire/etc bulbs don't always fit. If I recall correctly, the bulb is right below the A/C button.

Once you put blue light through your HVAC, you will lose the red color on your temperature dial. Some people may not care, but it always bugged me. I ended up getting the EL HVAC panel off of eBay that had blue lighting and still retained the red on the dial.

So you just put in that EL HVAC and it already had the blue backing, and illuminates blue? BTW, how do you remove the stock HVAC face?

The face for the HVAC is pretty much just a sticker. When i got the indiglow one off ebay all I did was peel off the old one and put on the new one. Here is a pic of mine.

Not the best quality but better than nothing.

I'm kind of confused about this, does this "sticker" apply to the front or back of the stock face? I thought they were an entirly new face. Also, you didnt change any bulbs to get that effect? can someone please provide me with a link to an HVAC face like this?

^Good pic, thats exactly what I have. Its an entirely new gauge face, just like the overlays you put on your gauge cluster.

I still put a blue LED behind the HVAC so the indicators on the levers and the AC button matches the blue color.

No, you don't have to do anything with the stock lights. Just pull the stock face off and put the new one on. It's indeglow so the face has gel in it that lights up. You will need to wire up the new face once you get it to a switch or something.

The sticker is not transparent. It has its own lighting built into it. It comes with its own little converter box too that need to be wired up to a power source. You could probably wire it up to the stock lights so you could use the dimmer but I just made my own switch for it.

The stock HVAC bulb has an amber shield over it to match the other lighting. Once that is removed, you can shine whatever color you want through it.

I didn't remove the stock HVAC face, I just stuck the EL one over the stock one and wired it into the rest of my lights so it comes on when my other lights do.

Nice!!:thumb: :thumb: Thats what I wanted to hear. I guess it's time to go shopping for a blue LED.

I have my EL HVAC lights wired up to its own switch along with my EL guages so I can choose whether or not to have them one with the rest of the lights. Plus my EL guages came with their own dimmer anyway.

I was wondering if you can change the bulbs where from where your ac lights up? also from where it says prnd all of that stuff? I am sick of that stock green light:barf: I want to put orange light

So is there an easier way to change these suckers than pulling the dash apart?

Sure there is. Pull the A/C vents out and stick your hand behind the HVAC controls to take the stock bulb out. I went with a #74 red led bulb, but it was too long. I put some adhesive silicone around the bulb and holder and stuck it in the hole. It has been working for a few weeks now.

Excellent! I knew there had to be an easier way than taking the glove box out and dash apart! Thank you.
