Alright. After reading through all the the HVAC lighting ideas and ruling out wanting to use LED's (just too much work for me). I decided I was just gonna see if I could find a blue bulb to swap out the bulb that lights the HVAC. Well, after looking on Ebay I've found that they now make direct replacement LED bulbs that will plug right into exhisting factory bulb placements. Well, I can find the size for the foot lights and glove box. But I can't seem to find the size for the HVAC. If anyone knows of another size (I'm looking for size 74, doesn't seem right) I might be able to look under please let me know. Thanks a bunch.

thanks for the reply. i found the one on speedhut, but i really like the one above better. I searched ebay again but all i found was the overlays that dont glow.

The lights that are supposed to illuminate the ac controls aren't lighting up, and I can't seem to be able to remove them. I tried removing the four front screws that hold it in the front, but that doesn't seem to do much. I removed my radio but no luck, can't access or see any bulbs. Can anyone help me out please?

There is only 1 light bulb that lights the whole control unit. If you take out the vents/bezel above and look down in, you should be able to see the wire for the light. Just look for the red wires sticking out from the top middle. Then twist the bulb and pull it out.

oh, one more thing, do I just push on the lower part of the vents up there to get a hold of it from the bottom and just pull the entire part out, or how to I properly remove it?

Take a flat head screwdriver and cover it with a towel (so you don't scratch the bezel). Then pry on the outside of the bezel (the part that contains all the switches). Pry on top and bottom and both sides and just pull it out. The vents should come out with it, but mine just sit in there and then I have to just pull them out separately.

Can you change the color of the AC controls to a red color instead of the stock orange? These cars would so much better with red dash lights. I'm also changing the bulb condoms on the cluster so it lights up red.

So I've been trying to remove the light on my HVAC controls, simply because it has gone out.
Should I be able to get my hand in there and turn the bulb to get it out?
Or do I have to pull out the whole assembly?
I'm just asking because I need to know if I'm wasting my time, without pulling the whole assembly.:aha:
Thanks.

Remove the dash vents above the hvac unit, then stick your hand down in there, twist the bulb to remove it. You do NOT have to remove the hvac unit to replace the bulb.
