Hope someone sees this.

I have a 96GST That idles fine then a minute down the road it starts backfiring out the pipe and tries to shut off and sometimes does. But it will always idle ok. Revs up blow off does it’s job start going down the road plenty of power then starts cutting off then backfires over and over until you turn key on and off. If you wait about five minutes it acts fine again the the same thing?

I have two for spare so I’ll try whatever. Already check the usual. Timing plugs Wired’s vac leaks coils.... pressures. . Please help I am loosing it. Lol

Backfires out the pipe... not lip .... LOL

did you get the right plate? and/or did you install a/the new crank sensor plate the right way. LOL have to ask? and https://stmtuned.com/collections/1g...racing-4g63-12-tooth-crank-trigger-sensor-kit might be a solution to crank sensor issue spend the money once to not have the issue arise again
Yes sir.... plate is for 96 and if you flip it it will be in wrong position so it will only go on one way.... I mean it starts right up but I took it apart twice and there’s no adjusting it and when you cranking it over can’t hear ticking maybe gets louder when running...

Needs aftermarket ECU and specific cam sensor... I’ll just have to find 1g. I know one will come up. Maybe get lucky at pick n pull there are two about 60 miles in different directions LOL you never know what’s missing until you get there...

Well hit him up, part was still in hand. He wasn’t sure if it was good or not so he just gave it to me.

Turns out he’s lives close by so went on a ride on Ducati. Way back I had a box truck full size VS Honda Civic right in front of me in fast lane. Why truck in that lane not sure but it was more like tires vs Honda. Tires won but truck went sideways and on two wheels not sure how it didn’t flip. Honda went for next exit thought he was running until I caught up and saw drivers side. Have no idea how he made it off highway but he looked freaked. 20 yr old and first crash.... BUT THEN .... truck never stopped no one but me. CHP still looking for truck.... it wasn’t his fault but now it is.... there was one car ahead of me she hit shoulder almost crushed by truck I guess she kept going I did my best dirt track imitation got hit by flying parts but it was way too close. Thank god for new tires... Had a few scratches but was just happy I got around it... then major pause and saw car smoking and leaving or so I thought...
SO FOR THE END (hopefully)

Thank you everyone for your input and ideas. There are no dumb inputs because you never know what little things someone could miss or forget!!!
The idea of the 1G replacement I did not know about. I thought of the idea but didn’t know it would be so easy... so once I have it adjusted here and there and finish body enough for proper test drive I will update pics and video!!!

OK SO NOT ONE ISSUE AFTER MAKING THE CHANGE.... as of yet.... still working on body and will update more as I go along.
Again thanks everyone for your input they all help!!!! Here’s a short vid of top end and make any comments if you see something bad...good.... whatever.
