how to tune a 93 tsi awd?

im buying a 93 talon awd and the guy said it needs tuned he bought an oem remanufactured ecu and he says it needs tuned because it runs rich. im completly new to tuning so what product and where should i start? thanks guys. i think i need an ecu thats socketed..when aproaching a stop with the clutch in it will idle like 1500 and if you tap the gas it will drop to normal like 800-900


oh and it has a tdo5 running 7 psi and a fmic stock bov 3 inch full exhaust.

Dsmlink and injectors should get you moving on the right path, and maybe a fuel pressure regulator. I would get rid of that stock bov and get something that won't leak either ! GOOD LUCK

If you're moving the ECU sees the VSS output and doesn't know you want to idle the engine. Also, you shouldn't be holding the clutch in to coast any more than you have to. Shift to neutral, don't ride the clutch.

TD05 could be the stock 14b, OR any of the first 3 iterations of 16G or even a 20G, would you mind specifying? There's a big difference between a 14b and a 20G.

Are you planning to upgrade the injectors later?
Everyone is going to tell you ECMLink/DSMLink and I'm not arguing that. Yes, it's awesome. But there are cheaper alternatives for someone who won't need or want all it offers.
