I am not implying that NT are slow. I was just mentioning that it would be cheaper to go with a turbo. It would actually be pretty cool if somebody had a quick NT. It would be diffrent than what everybody else is doing with DSM's. I would say go for it if money isnt a big issue.

Yeah, well money isn't to much of an issue, I take home $1000 a week.
I wanna do my NT up to the best NT, then slap a turbo on it and Nitrous. That way it's gonna have 200hp, then a turbo kit that gets a stock nt upto 280hp I think it's Stage II, slap that onto the 200hp NT. If the turbo kit say it applies 140hp onto a stock NT I should be able to push 340hp  I don't know if thats correct, but if it is... Wow :thumb:

thats not correct because there are things from the nt setup you will have to replace to go turbo, ie.....cai and header. you also cant get above 280whp i believe on the stock block. to get over that you need a rebuilt bottom end:dsm:

Well I am talking about 340 crank. Probably like 300 or so whp. But maybe I can see 300-310 crank and 280whp.
We'll thats my goal, to get the most. AS in bottom end you mean new pushrods, cyclinders etc?

bottom end meaning rods and pistons. check out www.howellautomotive.com for more info on built bottom ends. bout the 340 crank, you wont get it with a stage 2 level turbo. like i said before, there are parts from the na setup you cant use with a turbo setup. to even get close to 200whp na, you would need a rebuilt bottom end with high compression which isnt ideal for a turbo setup. basically, if your goals are 300whp, look into gettin a stage 3 setup:dsm:

Well I drove a TSI today. 95 AWD. It was fast... but not as fast as I was thinking, kinda of disapointing actually. I think that an NT with many upgrades and turbo will be more impressive.

Thats becuase it is stock. But I still dont see how you would not be impressed. The first time I drove my TSI I fell in love with it. I have drove a NT too and to me there was a very big diffrence. I dunno why but the 1g turbo to me felt alot faster than the two 2g turbos I have drove.

i drive a NT still paying monthly on it so cant sell it. What can i do to it just to be fast enough to smoke civics and other riced cars thanks for the help i dont want to be a drag racer just something to give a little power:dsm:

well if money is an issue, just get a udp.......8hp from the butt dyno right there. or if you dont mind spending a little, you can do what i plan on doing soon which is getting some cams. there are graphs on 2gnt showing the gains and they are pretty good. look there for more info on tuning our cars cuz people there know a lot:dsm:

Well if do what I am doing.

The prices are in canadian.

CAI - $120
Header - $100 (on Ebay :D) Heard they are pretty good.
High Flow Cat - $129
Muffler - $100
Piping/Removing Resenator. $100 -/+
Thermal wrap headers, and intake. $50
After market wires and spark plugs $91
Cams - $500-$600
Underdrive pulley - $250
Cam Gears - $350
Valve Springs - $220

That will get you plenty of Naturally Aspirated power! Should get you alteast 200hp, and it's all motor, no Turbo Lag. When you stop on it the car goes. Not goes then GOES like a turbo.
That what I wasn't impressed, I havn't driven to many turbo cars. It just took to long for the turbo to spool up. It was nice when it did kick in, but I would rather have All Motor 200hp, when you let off the clutch and it pins you in the seat.
oh well.

you guys need to lay off the 420A motor. you think its such a bad engine except for the fact that you its strong, no crank walk, and for under 3 grand you have a turbo kit with a t3/t4 turbo backing it up. new pistons and rods and you can handle well over 300 hp. my friend has a built 420A and i would take that car over any gs-t or gsx and day. so give some love to all the dsm's.

right now i got a 1g awd tsi and a 2gnt nicely modded.

the 1g is definately faster, but the 2g is definately more of a cruiser that could smoke the occassional import.

in the 1g tho u can race a completely different kind of car tho, like turbo cars, v8's and what not

Well, it can be done. Takes a bit more work and money. Plenty people there have done it including myself. If you have not checked it out already, go to 2gnt.com. Everyone is helpful and there is a LOT of info on that site concerning what you wanna do and more.
