Yup, the title says it all. Oil pan is dropped but my friend and I are having trouble getting all the grey RTV out of the little grooves in the oil pan. Is there an easy way to do this? Cause I'm having little luck and we need a good seal.

Ok...this may be retarded, but I'm really tired and sore so thinking istn' what it usually is....when I did it at my buddy's garage he had a wire wheel for buffing stuff I guess....one side was wire, and it had another wheel for gridning....we used the wire wheel and it cleaned out the groves and everything else off so we could put enough RTV where it belonged and have it seal everywhere we needed it too...If not, maybe a wire brush or something would work...just take a little longer? Good luck man!

ok so I had the same problem, and I'm really impatient so I used my fingernails.. DON"t try this cause it starts to hurt a lot, but I toughed it out and got er pretty clean... I also used brake cleaner and a shop towel to get it really clean. Lol at my own dumbness sometimes but hey I put the pan back on and no leaks yet (5,000 km)

Scotchbrite pad- removes the RTV, doesn't harm the metal.

I suppose a wire wheel would work also . . .
