My motor pretty much siezed up and I don't know if its the valves or the bottom end but I'm in pulling the head and Hopeing I just jumped timming. BUt I don't know if there's a way to find top dead center with the head off.

Ok what i wanna know is what method would I use to get it at tdc with no head on

Once you have the head and timing belt cover off you will see the bottom main crank sprocket that the timing belt rides on. There is a mark on this sprocket, there is also a mark on the front engine cover. Once you line the two up that is TDC. You can also look at the VFAQ for the timing belt install. There should be some pics of all the timing marks on there.
