how should a 4g63 ported head look exhaust side for a holset turbo?

That port job is, um.... well beautiful. Who did it, you or the shop?

Thanks! I did it myself. i used a measuring tool like they use at Cox racing where they port turbo heads.

I used my "turtle method" or slow and steady when I did mine and spent almost 31 hours of porting for two weeks. Glossed up so well and got a lot of material out of the valve bowls and runners. I didn't, however, cut the guides. I've heard good theories, and I've also heard bad ones. Hopefully you'll have nothing but positive gains.
 
damn i dont make my ports no where near that smooth. i finish with 80grit on the exhaust side. looks ok for ##.............. first head???

no flow bench, i went to my friend that work for cox racing. they dont flow bench the heads. they just use snap gauges. It just has to be close, forcing in air is different than sucking it in. ive already install the head on my rebuilt motor. its pulling hard and im happy with how well it runs. It may be like 20 hp more on the stock setup, but when i throw a holset at it, it will make a much bigger difference than a stock head.

i know this i kind of an old thread that im bring back to life but im glad i am. I like porting. This is probably my 5th cylinder head working on. i have a few more that ill play with when i get bored.
ive seen better than what i did, but i dont have all the tools to get it that polished. talking about see your reflection polished. like chrome.

ill take a picture of it for you.

here are 2 pictures. one that shows how to use the tool. Keep the tool straight and measure where you are taking off material. I took material off the guides mainly, so i measure there on each and matched them perfectly. then i aim at the guides and again perfect percision. LOL so its not flow benched but thats only necessary for NA cars. I just got on my car tonight for the 1st time and wow, i cant believe i just did like 120 outside my house, idk what i was thinking, that thing is quick.
