How much is too much

I just bought a 95 talon tsi awd with a 6 bolt swap. When i got the car it had an autometer oil pressure gauge that wasn't hooked up. I got it hooked up and the car I believe has to much oil pressure. When it's warm at idle it will hold 12-25 psi but under rpms the oil pressure goes all the way to 95-100 psi. I've been reading and i believe this is because when he removed the balance shafts he didn't port the oil pump. My question is do I have too much or will I be ok?

That's common. I see close to 90 psi, with no balance shafts and no oil galley porting. Just don't expect that autometer oil pressure gauge to last long.

Why will the gauge go out? So with that kind of pressure i'm in no danger of hurting anything? The car leaks oil where the oil filter housing bolts to the block, i assumed this was due to the extremly high pressure. Can i take the housing off and apply some silicone to hold the oil in or is there another method of fixing this? i tried tightening the bolt but it appears to be no better maybe worse.

if you have too much oil pressuer i would 1st see if you have too much oil but with out the balance shafts the gauge will not give you the right reading remember that it is just a opening.

Your Autometer gauge will be fine. There's no reason why it won't function just fine a long time.

Pull your oil filter housing off and port it out a bit. That will reduce your oil pressure to a more acceptable level. See this thread for pictures.

Where can i get a gasket for the oil filter housing I am having no luck getting one at advanced auto parts.
